Guerschon Yabusele led Real Madrid to a hard-fought win over Baskonia

Even without Edy Tavares and Gabriel Deck, Real Madrid secured a thrilling 79-77 victory against Baskonia in their EuroLeague Regular Season opener.

The reigning champions were led by Guerschon Yabusele, who played a crucial role near the basket, scoring 18 points and grabbing 8 rebounds.

Yabusele emphasized the importance of the win, acknowledging the intensity of the game and the challenge of winning on the road.

Vincent Poirier stepped in for the unavailable Edy Tavares, delivering a solid performance with 10 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists.

“We were very close until the end. We fought, we knew we were a little bit weaker than we got all the big guys,” Chus Mateo said after getting the away victory.

“But we believed and won, it was very difficult since they beat us four times last year. We were able to play good defense, and to control the rebound at the end.”
