Grizzlies expressed strong interest in Draymond Green
According to a report by Marc Stein on his Substack, the Grizzlies had significant interest in acquiring Draymond Green and were making plans to pursue him.
However, sources indicate that there is a prevailing sense of confidence within the Warriors organization that a multi-year agreement to keep Green with the team is on the horizon. It is believed that a three-year deal is the likely projection for the 33-year-old forward.
Green recently declined his player option for the 2023-24 season, which would have guaranteed him $27.6 million. However, both Green and the Warriors have expressed mutual interest in continuing their successful partnership.
During the previous season, Green averaged 8.5 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 6.8 assists in 31.5 minutes per game. His exceptional defensive skills and leadership have been instrumental in the Warriors’ success, contributing to their four NBA championships.
While the Grizzlies expressed strong interest in Green, it appears that the Warriors are determined to secure his services for the foreseeable future.
