In celebration of Mario Day, Nintendo has announced that Game Boy’s Dr. Mario, Mario Golf, and Mario Tennis will all arrive on Nintendo Switch Online on March 12, 2024.

These Nintendo Switch Online additions were just one of the big reveals on Mario Day 2024 and join the news that a new Super Mario Bros. movie is officially in development, that the remake of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door will arrive on May 23, and that Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD will spook its way to Switch on June 27.

Dr. Mario was first released on the Game Boy in 1990 and is a falling block puzzle game that tasks players with stopping viruses by using vitamins. Dr. Mario has found its way onto most other Nintendo consoles and even had a spin-off in the form of Dr. Luigi on Wii U.

Mario Golf was released on Game Boy Color in 1999 and was released in the same year as the N64 version. It was the second game in the Mario Golf franchise and followed NES Open Tournament Golf from 1991. The latest title in the series was 2021’s Mario Golf: Super Rush.

Lastly, Mario Tennis was released for Game Boy Color in 2000 in Japan and 2001 in North America and was also released right around the N64 version. This entry marked the first appearance of Waluigi and the GBC version features an RPG mode its N64 counterpart didn’t. The latest title in the series was 2018’s Mario Tennis Aces.
