Gabriel Jesus’ stance on joining Arsenal without Champions League football
An insight into Gabriel Jesus’ view on joining Arsenal should the Gunners fail to qualify for the Champions League has been provided.
The Brazilian was linked with a summer switch to Arsenal last month and those rumours were further fuelled when Pep Guardiola stated that he did not know what the future held for Jesus.
And given Manchester City have already signed Julian Alvarez and Erling Haaland, there does appear to be little room for Jesus, who, up until recently had something of a bit-part player in Manchester anyway.
However, Arsenal signing Jesus, or any top player for that matter, could depend on whether or not the north Londoners finish in a top-four place.
At present, though, that does seem very unlikely. Arsenal lost the north London derby vs Spurs last week before then being beat 2-0 by Newcastle on Monday.
This means Spurs are now two points clear of Arsenal in 4th with just one game left to play. And as Tottenham are set to face Norwich, it seems very unlikely they will slip up to allow the Gunners back into the top-four.
But even though Arsenal’s Champions League hopes are now dead in the water, it does appear as though they may still be able to land Jesus.
As per the Sun, it has been made clear by Gabriel Jesus’ team that although the Champions League is a major attraction, they have not completely ruled out a move to Arsenal.
Arsenal, meanwhile, are hopeful Mikel Arteta’s relationship with the Brazilian from his time in Manchester will be key to a move:
