Dwight Howard believes ‘the narratives would have changed’ about him if he remained a Laker in 2013

Former NBA All-Star Dwight Howard looked back on leaving the Los Angeles Lakers for the Houston Rockets back in 2013 during episode #192 of My Expert Opinion.

(via Math Hoffa):

“I felt like if I would have stayed in LA, I think a lot of the narratives would have changed around about me. I think me leaving and not saying anything about anything, it gave the other media a voice to speak on my behalf and say what they felt. And since I didn’t say nothing, now people got this whole misconception about, ‘Oh, he couldn’t handle the spotlight. He didn’t wanna be here.’ So I didn’t really say anything about it. I should have stepped up and I should have manned up and said something, but looking back on it, if I would have sat down and really thought about my decisions without being in my emotions, I probably would have stayed in LA at that time.”
