Philadelphia 76ers president of basketball operations, Daryl Morey, has made it clear that trading James Harden will only happen if the team receives significant value in return. Morey’s comments further solidify the reports that the Sixers have set a high asking price for the former league MVP.

Harden’s trade request came after he opted into his contract for the 2023-24 season with the Sixers, specifying the Clippers as his desired destination. However, negotiations have hit a standstill due to Philadelphia’s steep demands.

“If we don’t get either a very good player or something we can turn into a very good player, we are not going to do it,” Morey told 97.5 FM of trading Harden, per Keith Pompey.
