Darius Garland guides Cavaliers to victory over Pistons in In-Season Tournament clash

In a high-stakes NBA In-Season Tournament showdown, Darius Garland showcased his prowess with a season-high 28 points, leading the Cleveland Cavaliers (6-6) to a 108-100 triumph over the struggling Detroit Pistons (2-11).

The victory dealt the Pistons their 10th consecutive loss, solidifying Cleveland’s position in East Group A.

Garland’s stellar performance was complemented by the impressive contributions of Evan Mobley and Max Strus, who scored 18 points each.

Mobley added 11 rebounds and five assists to his impactful performance. Undrafted rookie Craig Porter also made a mark with a career-best 12 points in just 16 minutes on the court.

The Cavaliers faced the Pistons without the services of Donovan Mitchell, who was inactive due to a right hamstring strain.

Cade Cunningham led the Pistons with 20 points and eight assists, while Kevin Knox II contributed 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Despite their efforts, the Pistons, with the worst record in the league at 2-11, struggled to break their losing streak.

The Cavaliers improved to a 1-1 record in East Group A. Detroit, on the other hand, remains winless in the tournament with a 0-3 record.
