Confirmed Man United XI vs FC Copenhagen: Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay start – Man United News And Transfer News

Harry Maguire has kept his place in the Manchester United starting line up to face FC Copenhagen this evening.

Raphael Varane and Sergio Reguilon return to action, but it is Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans who step down, with the former skipper having clearly impressed manager Erik ten Hag enough to retain his place.

Diogo Dalot and Andre Onana also continue in defence.

In midfield, Scott McTominay also keeps his place despite an erratic performance on Saturday.

The Scotsman scored United’s first goal against Sheffield United but then conceded a penalty before being substituted on the hour.

He joins Sofyan Amrabat in the deep positions, with Bruno Fernandes ahead of them.

The front three remains unchanged from Saturday, with Antony on the right wing, Marcus Rashford on the left and Rasmus Hojlund up top.

A lot of United fans were expecting more changes in midfield and on the wings after another lacklustre outing on Saturday.

New signing Mason Mount is once again on the bench, as is Alejandro Garnacho, who will be disappointed not to be starting, and Christian Eriksen, who has improved United’s control in every match when he has joined in from the subs’ bench.

They are joined by goalkeepers Altay Bayindir and Tom Heaton, Lindelof, Evans, Hannibal, Facu Pellistri and Anthony Martial.

This means no place in the squad for Kobbie Mainoo despite being back in full training.

Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martinez, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Amad Diallo are all still injured.

Casemiro is suspended and Jadon Sancho has been exiled for disciplinary reasons.

Kick-off at Old Trafford is at 8pm.
