Collin Sexton’s desired contract revealed
Over the last few years Collin Sexton emerged as one of the best young point guards in the NBA. The former number 8 draft pick became a key piece for the Cavaliers.
As his rookie contract is about to expire, Sexton wanted to earn $20 million each year starting for the 2022-2023 season, according to Chris Fedor. However, Cleveland reportedly prefers Caris LeVert over him. It has also been reported that Sexton’s extension talks are in a standstill.
“Collin (Sexton) wanted something north of 20 million annually coming into this offseason,” Chris Fedor said on The Lowe Post podcast, via HoopsHype. “I was told that he wanted an annual contract that started with a two, not a one. And he sees himself as a starting two guard in the NBA.”
This past season Sexton averaged 16 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 28.7 minutes over 11 games before going down with a meniscus injury in his left knee.
