In light of their challenging five-game losing skid, the L.A. Clippers may look to apply rotational change by removing a longtime frontcourt cog.

Per Andrew Greif of the Los Angeles Times, the Clippers are preparing to move Marcus Morris Sr. out of their starting unit.

“The Clippers have been preparing with an expectation that Marcus Morris Sr. is on his way out of the starting lineup.”

Upon the L.A.’s acquisition of him in 2019-2020 midseason, Morris emerged as a trustworthy enforcer for the team given his size, shooting and versatility. As such, the veteran has been glued by head coach Ty Lue in his starting lineup since last year.

The shuffling that Lue will make will only mean that either Nic Batum or Robert Covington will be appointed to start alongside Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. The team may also consider the ongoing adjustments being made to cater the needs and effectiveness of Russell Westbrook.

This season, Morris Sr. is tallying 12.0 markers and 4.1 boards. He is also shooting 37.1 percent from three.
