Chelsea eyeing up £100 million move for Manchester United target Victor Osimhen – Man United News And Transfer News

Chelsea are reportedly ready to bid £100 million for top Manchester United target Victor Osimhen.

The Nigerian international has been attracting interest from some of the biggest clubs around the world after an impressive season.

For Napoli, he has scored 25 goals in all competitions, including three goals across both legs of the round of 16 of the Champions League against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Man United are in need of that goalscorer after the abrupt exit of Cristiano Ronaldo earlier on in the season.

Erik ten Hag will be keen to find that extra addition despite his team’s good form this season.

Marcus Rashford has stepped up massively with Wout Weghorst filling in up top. However, the Dutch striker is only here on loan from Burnley and it is unclear whether he will be staying beyond the current campaign.

According to Football Insider, sources say Chelsea boss Graham Potter is keen to add more firepower to his squad and is looking at Osimhen.

The Blues are willing to match Napoli’s £100m valuation, although the Serie A side could demand more, depending on where the club finishes in both the league and Champions League.

However, the London club could face a huge battle after a poor season to date which has left them in 10th place in the Premier League. Qualifying for the Champions League seems impossible with Chelsea 10 points adrift from this position.

If any club has the money, it would be Chelsea, having spent over £300m in just the January transfer window alone.

If the 24-year-old does make the move to Stamford Bridge, he will no doubt replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has lost his place in the squad.

However, there will already be a spot free within the United squad and Osimhen could be tempted to join in the summer if the club can pull off the figure Napoli are demanding.

Liverpool, Arsenal and Real Madrid are also showing an interest in the striker, but a deal seems far off yet.
