Cedi Osman-Jae Crowder swap in talks only ‘at least for now’
Though there were murmurs of a probable Cedi Osman and Jae Crowder trade, it only stands as it is for the meantime per insider Marc Stein.
“I’ve heard this in only one place, and trade discussions tend to be fluid, but I was told over the weekend that any talk of Cleveland swapping Cedi Osman for Jae Crowder, is no more than that,” Stein said, adding a hint: “At least for now.”
Crowder, who remains away from the Phoenix Suns until a trade request finally materializes, is set to enter a contract year this 2022-23 season. But given that he has a much bigger salary from the two, the Cavs have to consider throwing several other players to complete a probable Osman package to land the disgruntled veteran.
Despite the whispers swirling around, Osman remains focused to play and happy as a Cavalier.
“I’ve been hearing those things,” Osman admitted, per cleveland.com’s Chris Fedor. “But I’m just focused on my basketball because you cannot control that. That’s why whenever I stepped on a court I was just working on my game and trying to get better. It’s been six years since coming over, six years in Cleveland. I’m happy here and this is my home. You cannot control that so at one point, if it happens it happens. But I’m just here right now and I’m happy being a Cleveland Cavalier.”
Osman has been with the Cavaliers since his entry to the league in the 2017-18 season. A beloved fan favorite amongst Cleveland supporters, his hustle and energy often drew praise.
