H&M’s Spring 2024 Studio Collection Is Here—14 Items to Shop

H&M’s drops are large and frequent, with hundreds of items arriving every week. Because of that, it’s understandable if you can’t keep up with it all. (That’s why we’re here to always keep you up to date on the best new items from each one!) But when the Stockholm-based brand releases its biannual Studio collection, that’s an entirely different story. With just 47 pieces total—each of which is designed with precision by H&M’s head of womenswear design and creative advisor, Ann-Sofie Johansson—the curated collection isn’t one that’s acceptable to say “maybe later” about, especially because it’s notorious for selling out on the day it launches. Today, my friends, is that day.

For spring 2024, Johansson tells Who What Wear that her and the design team found inspiration in the 1970s, when musicians traveled around the world in a free-and-easy manner, “borrowing things from friends, stopping off at a thrift store, using a necklace as a belt, [and] being creative with [their] clothing but also wearing old favorites in refreshing new ways,” she says. “Overall, we wanted to capture a sense of freedom.” As a result, the silhouettes featured in the collection are long and lean, with a dusty, earthy color palette mixed in with soft blues reminiscent of desert skies. “We were thinking about the ease and relaxation that the 1970s ushered in for fashion, where pieces were comfortable to wear and made a subtle statement at the same time,” she explains. “We always focus on versatility, and creating looks that can be worn in lots of different combinations.” Thus, you can expect to find languid dresses and separates that while tailored, are done so in a roomy, flexible way that makes them comfortable enough to travel in but also elevated and impressive.

The collection’s campaign, which debuted earlier this month, featured Italian supermodel Vittoria Ceretti and was shot in the hills of California by photographer Dan Jackson. “Vittoria sums up the free-spirited energy of this collection,” says Johansson, “with an innate confidence and unique sense of poise that shows off the versatile potential of the looks.” In it, you’ll find her posed against a scenic backdrop at dusk in a floor-sweeping, camel-colored duster belted with a leather cord; lounging on a chair outside of a concrete building in a utility vest and bootcut leather pants; and donning snakeskin mules with a leather shorts-and-top set near a plot of boulders. And those are just the highlights.

According to Johansson, the striped oversized shirt with a white collar is set to be *the* item of the collection due to its versatility: “It’s a really hard-working wardrobe piece that makes you feel and look pulled together,” she says. “I also think the sky-blue leather coat will be popular, as it’s the kind of piece you will love and wear forever, and the burnt-orange maxi dress which is a very flattering silhouette.” Shop her picks and more of the spring 2024 Studio collection below. And don’t wait. These are all sure to sell out in no time.

Everyone Will Be Wearing These 7 Trends From Milan in 2024

Granted, I may be writing this on a grey day in London and not fresh from gallivanting around the streets of Milan this fashion week, but scouring through a round up of the Italian city’s Autumn/Winter 2024 shows has given me enough inspiration to pretend I really was there. Let’s pretend for a moment that instead of drinking a builders tea in a chunky knit we’re sat a stone’s throw from Milan cathedral, soaking up the sun and debriefing over an espresso. It’s time to talk runway trends, and I’ve been meticuolously studying the shows (albeit from afar), and taking notes on all the recurring themes, colours, prints and fabrics on the runways to bring you the best of the best. The creme de la creme, the cherry on the gelato. So let’s dive in.

On the streets of Milan we saw the rise and rise of what I’m going to affectionately refer to as “Gucci red” (sorry Valentino pink), and if you thought the Milanese loved ballet flats as much as we do, think again (pointed heels are forever the street style set’s look du jour). But what were the highlights on the runways?

Well, brands were on the same page when it came to longer hemlines and clever layering (and if you’re looking for new workwear inspiration, simply Google “Bottega Veneta autumn/winter 2024”). But all showed different interpretations of what I’m calling “dressy minimalism.” Translation: pared-back, anti-trend pieces that will live forever in your wardrobe, or in the case of Dolce and Gabbana, Tom Ford and Gucci, the kind of underwear you probably already own, but hadn’t thought of putting on display. Whatever your style, keep scrolling to see and shop the top seven runway trends of Milan Fashion Week’s autumn/winter 2024 season. There’s a lot you’re going to want to save for later.

1. Chic Cardigans

(Image credit: Victor VIRGILE/Gamma-Rapho via Getty Images)

Style Notes: If this isn’t proof that a three piece knit is anything but old-fashioned, I don’t know what is. Bravo, Ferragamo, you’ve elevated brown knitwear to cool new heights.

(Image credit:  Victor VIRGILE/Gamma-Rapho via Getty Images)

Style Notes: Nothing says “cardigans are a key piece” quite like Gucci showing a look that makes the knit the star of the show. Who needs trousers when your jumper looks this good?

Style Notes: Long gone are the pop culture motifs and wacky colours, a new era of Moschino has arrived. Don’t mind me, I’m just mentally bookmarking this entire look for future reference.

Shop the Trend:

2. Chocolate Brown

Style Notes: There’s something inherently delicious about Alberta Feretti’s Jaffa cake colour palette, especially for autumn. Nothing lifts deep, cocoa browns quite like a bright pop of colour like orange.

(Image credit: Victor VIRGILE/Gamma-Rapho via Getty Images)

Style Notes: If you’re going to try a new colour trend, it might as well be head-to-toe brown. It’s classy, expensive, and always looks polished—a case in point, Bottega’s sweeping maxi dress.

(Image credit: Victor VIRGILE/Gamma-Rapho via Getty Images)

Style Notes: Consider this Ermanno Scervino a masterclass in how to layer fifty shades of brown.

Shop the Trend:

3. Underwear as Outerwear

Style Notes: If any brand is going to make a lingerie a ready-to-wear trend, it’s going to be Dolce and Gabbana. The duo that gave us corsets, suspenders and lace is now presenting lighter, sheerer, “soft as a whisper” layers that wouldn’t look out of place in bed.

Style Notes: Alberta Feretti just reminded me how versatile camisole tops and dresses really are. It’s about time I had on in my wardrobe for a myriad of evening outfits.

Style Notes: If slips and lace aren’t your thing, Tom Ford showed how clever cut-outs can create a nude illusion without actually having to bear all.

Shop the Trend:

4. Ladylike Lengths

(Image credit: Victor VIRGILE/Gamma-Rapho via Getty Images)

Style Notes: Let’s settle the dispute between mini and maxi skirts. The answer is taking the middle ground, the midi. The pencil skirt trend continues (as seen here at Bottega), and we’re here for any trend that doesn’t require us to bear our legs before the weather reaches at least 25 degrees.

Style Notes: I love midi length skirts and dresses with tall boots, and this double leather pairing from Fendi is on my outfit moodboard for the end of the year.

Style Notes: Dressing like the cast of Mad Men was not high on our 2024 Bingo list, but now we’ve seen it the Prada way, we’re here for it (especially with these cute flats).

Shop the Trend:

5. Sheer Delights

Style Notes: Blumarine are known for pushing the limits of ready-to-wear, so as much as this ethereal lace dress is absolutely stunning, it’s also not likely to be the first thing you throw on in the morning. It does however remind us just how pretty a simple, white slip dress can be, and sheer pieces like this can always be worn over a pair of floaty trousers to runway effect.

Style Notes: And here’s how to wear sheer pieces according to Fendi; so the first thing you buy after a sheer skirt should be a pair of opaque tights.

(Image credit: Victor VIRGILE/Gamma-Rapho via Getty Images)

Style Notes: This level of “undressed-dressed” could only be pulled off so elegantly by Sportmax. Everything from the corsetry to the delicate fabric is a walking work of art.

Shop the Trend:

6. Cape Crusaders

Style Notes: Easy, elegant and understated, it’s been a while since the cape had a moment in the sun, but the Milan runways have committed to the wrap around in a big, big way.

(Image credit: Victor VIRGILE/Gamma-Rapho via Getty Images)

Style Notes: Let’s return to Ferragamo to see how capes can be styled for the office, for dinner and any occasion that requires this level of “put-together” polish.

Style Notes: If you want to see capes in action, check out the Jil Sander AW’24 collection. There’s quilted capes, pleated capes, velvet capes, and of course, this bubblegum pink moment.

Shop the Trend:

7. Shaggy Coats

(Image credit: Victor VIRGILE/Gamma-Rapho via Getty Images)

Style Notes: It might seem counterintuitive to discuss some a cold-weather trend in the run up to spring, but if this week’s weather is anything to go buy, we’ve got a little bit more time to dream about wearing Marni’s arctic-ready faux fur coat.

(Image credit:  Victor VIRGILE/Gamma-Rapho via Getty Images)

Style Notes: Unlike last year’s ultra-fluffy longline furs and 2022’s shearling teddy, 2024 is all about the shaggy, retro jacket that couldn’t look any less like real fur if it tried. Think bright colours, exaggerated shapes, and plenty of wild texture.

(Image credit: Victor VIRGILE/Gamma-Rapho via Getty Images)

Style Notes: The bigger really is the better, and this loop knit-esque coat from Jil Sander is truly unforgettable.

Margot Robbie and Billie Eilish Say *This* Will Be Spring’s Biggest Makeup Trend

In case you missed it, the 30th annual Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards took place in Los Angeles over the weekend. Celebs like Margot Robbie, Emma Stone, and Selena Gomez took to the red carpet to debut some seriously stellar hair and makeup looks. As beauty editors, we watched with bated breath in the hopes of spotting the next big spring beauty trend.

Spoiler alert: we think we did just that. Among all the celebrities and their varying beauty looks, we couldn’t help but notice that some of the A-listers chose a similar aesthetic—and a classic spring aesthetic, no less. First, we spotted Billie Eilish wearing soft, petal-pink, monochrome makeup. Then, we spotted the very same on Margot Robbie. Finally, Brie Larson appeared on the red carpet wearing her iteration of the trend.

We think it’s cool that this spring makeup trend traverses generational divides. Eilish, a member of Gen Z, gave it her seal of approval, as did millennials Robbie and Larson. So, yeah, we’re going to go ahead and call it. Pink, monochrome makeup is set to be the biggest beauty trend for spring 2024. Keep scrolling to see the celeb inspo and stock up on the best pink makeup products.

Margot Robbie

Let’s start with Barbie, herself, Margot Robbie. Her makeup look basically screamed “spring,” and we loved it. The soft pink eye shadow, the diffused blush, and the satin lip color all coalesced into something fresh and soon-to-be seasonally appropriate.

Luckily for us, Robbie’s makeup artist, Pati Dubroff, shared the details of the look in an Instagram post. Since Robbie is a Chanel ambassador, it should come as no surprise that four of the stand-out products came from the luxury brand. Keep scrolling to see (and shop) them all!

The Exact Products Used:

Billie Eilish

We like how Eilish’s blush and eye shadow seem to be blended into one another, so we can’t tell where one ends and one begins. Add a neutral-pink lip color and faux freckles to the equation, and it’s a modernized take on a classic springtime look.

Brie Larson

Here’s Brie Larson’s take on the pink, monochrome look. Her makeup artist, Nina Park, used Guerlain products to create the look. We love the pop of pink on her cheeks and how it complements her shiny pink lip color and custom Versace dress.

Emma Watson Styled Adidas Gazelle Trainers During Milan Fashion Week

She may have been born in Paris and raised in Oxford, Emma Watson‘s most recent outfit reminds us all that she’s a London girl at heart. Stepping out during Milan Fashion Week, the actor and activist styled a look that could be pulled from the wardrobe of any British city-dweller. Wearing one of her favourite springtime staples, a longline trench coat, Watson styled her look with mid-rise jeans and trainers, creating a casual outfit that taped into several major trends.

Opting for jeans in a trending baggy fit, Watson created a casual foundation for her outfit, which she cleverly complimented with a pair of Adidas Gazelle trainers, which just so happen to be the sneaker of the moment. With a comfortable sole, streamlined cut and three signature stripes, the Adidas Gazelle has become something of a core footwear option for Londoners. Ideal for traipsing around the city and supporting the high step count that comes with London life, you’ll likely see several pairs every time you leave the house in the British capital.

Whilst Watson enjoys styling a laid-back jeans and trainers outfit, she often peppers her looks with high-end accessories. Styling a navy Prada bucket bag, tortoiseshell sunglasses and a glimmering tennis bracelet, Watson added a polished element to her off-duty look in a subtle yet impactful way.

As we move towards the warmer months, Watson’s spring-ready outfit has arrived at the perfect time. Read on to shop her look here, as well as our favourite Adidas trainers below.

All the Can’t-Miss Beauty Looks From the 2024 SAG Awards

We love being in the midst of award season. Why? Well, there are multiple reasons. Firstly, it means we can post up on the couch with our favorite form of takeout and maybe a glass of wine to yet again watch all of the A-list attendees filter in. It’s what we did for the Golden Globes; it’s what we did for the Grammy’s; and now, it’s what we’re doing for the 30th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards—more colloquially known as the SAG Awards. Secondly, and most importantly, it means we can, yet again, wait with bated breath to see the best (and most conversation-starting) red-carpet beauty looks.

This year’s nominees include Margot Robbie for Barbie, Emma Stone for Poor Things, Emily Blunt for Oppenheimer, and Ayo Edebiri for The Bear, among others. So, yeah, you can bet this year’s SAG Awards will provide ample hair and makeup inspo. Ahead, check out the undeniable best looks from the night.

Margot Robbie, AKA Barbie, walked the red carpet with polished waves and petal-pink makeup.

We don’t know what we love more, Emma Stone’s inky eyeliner, satiny lipstick, or super-shiny hair. Can we say all three? As for the latter, celebrity hairstylist Mara Roszak created a “fresh, youthful, and modern twist” to complement Stone’s Louis Vuitton dress.

Beauty products used: ROZ Milk Hair Serum ($52) and Nexxus Anti-Humidity Spray ($19)

Selena Gomez looked radiant wearing a full face of Rare Beauty, no doubt.

Beauty products used: Kristin Ess Soft Bend Titanium Curling Iron for Big Blowout Waves ($75)

Elizabeth Debicki’s peachy monotone makeup and long, icy blonde hair makes us think of a certain Disney queen.

Beauty products used: Danucera Cerabalm ($95) and Cream Supreme ($195)

(Image credit: Gilbert Flores/Variety via Getty Images)

Ariana Greenblatt’s makeup is the epitome of TikTok’s “revenge makeup” trend.

We need to know Ayo Edebiri’s skincare routine, because her complexion was lit-from-within.

Queen of Gen Z, Billie Eilish, also embraced the pink-makeup trend.

Anne Hathaway’s ’90s-inspired bombshell hair was styled by Virtue Creative Director and celebrity hairstylist Adir Abergel.

Beauty products used: Virtue Volumizing Hair Mousse ($40) and Shark FlexStyle Air Styling & Drying System ($264)

Brie Larson chose a fail-safe combo: polished waves and glowing, pink makeup.

Emily Blunt’s sleek-hair–and–sun-kissed-complexion is a winning combination.

Halle Bailey’s look is all about the details. For example, she has a striking inner-corner highlight that’s making her eyes pop.

A slicked-back hairstyle, like the one America Ferrera had, will never, ever get old. Celebrity hairstylist Aviva Jansen Perea was the expert behind the look.

Beauty products used: Kristin Ess Depth Defining Soft Matte Pomade for Texture, Definition + Volume ($12) and Soft Volume Blow Dry Brush ($85)

Quinta Brunson’s ’90s-esque makeup was flawless.

With hair this short, Jennifer Aniston is reminding us of Rachel Green in the early seasons of Friends.

Issa Rae’s curls are next-level.

(Image credit: Gilbert Flores/Variety via Getty Images)

We love Maddie Ziegler’s effortless-looking waves. It’s giving Greek goddess in the best way.

Kathryn Hahn’s smoky eyes are a master class in red-carpet makeup.

These 5 Swimwear Trends Will Be Big in 2024, According to Celebrities

We’ve reached a turning point in the year when temperatures have started to climb ever-so-slightly and holidays no longer seem like a distant dream. Beach babes, rejoice! Whether you’re counting down the days until a tour of the Amalfi Coast or are midway through planning a tropical getaway, swimwear is one of the first elements of your warm-weather wardrobe you’ll want to nail down.

For me, personally, what I wear to the seaside is often an afterthought, but even I have been drawn in by the array of striking swimsuit trends cropping up on social media lately—especially from the celebrity accounts I follow. Perhaps it’s simply a yearning to be beach-bound, but my new-found appreciation for swimwear has led me to an understanding of exactly which styles will be big this year. And now is the perfect time to shop them; before we reach peak season and they inevitably sell out.

From noughties-inspired bikinis to vibrant one-pieces, these are the top swimwear trends to take note of for spring/summer 2024.

1. Backless One-Piece

Style Notes: Is there anything more elegant than a high-neck, low-back situation? We think not, so it’s lucky that backless swimsuits are trending big time right now, thanks to style insiders like Jasmine Tookes.

Shop the trend:

2. String Bikini

Style Notes: If you’re hitting the beach in the hope of getting a tan, take your cues from Hailey Bieber and opt for a noughties-style string bikini. You can undo the ties when you want to target a certain area to avoid awkward tan lines.

Shop the trend:

3. Textured One-Piece

Style Notes: Swimsuits with a crinkly texture have been hugely popular for the past couple of summers, largely due to Hunza G’s viral styles—Rosie Huntington-Whitely is just one of many celeb fans. This year is no exception, and we’ve noticed other brands have started tapping into the trend.

Shop the trend:

4. Bandeau Top

Style Notes: Bandeau necklines are everywhere at the moment (in another nod to the early 2000s) and this particular trend has made its way into the swimwear space, too. Choose a simple bikini style like Kendall Jenner’s or a one-piece with removable straps.

Shop the trend:

5. Red Swimwear

Style Notes: Red is undeniably the colour of the season. Before jetting off to somewhere sunny, pack a bold cherry-hued swimsuit to celebrate the arrival of brighter days. Take note from J.Lo and team it with raffia accessories and an eye-catching cover-up.

Iris Law Just Wore the Mango Blazer-and-Skirt Set Editors Love

In my opinion, model Iris Law is the perfect example of everything great about Gen Z style. With a clothing collection that comprises delicate crochet knits, cropped cardigans and sporty staples, the 23-year-old’s day-to-day outfits retain a ’90s-style casual edge whilst nodding to her preference for the eclectic. This fashion month, however, she took a smarter and sleeker approach to her styling, opting for a fashion-editor-approved coordinating skirt-suit set for her trip to Milan.

Comprising a cropped, single-breasted blazer and grey, pleated miniskirt, Law styled a trending Mango suit set that is quickly becoming a favourite for spring. Whilst she wore hers with a tonal grey vest top and black trainers for a sporty edge, we’ve also spotted the pairing styled with sharp pointed-toe kitten heels and neat Mary Janes.

Coming in at £100 for the blazer and £60 for the miniskirt, the co-ord looks well above its price point. Whilst the grey blazer and skirt are undeniably a fashion match made in heaven, the two-piece set cements itself as a wardrobe hero because of its versatility. To bend the parameters, style the blazer with jeans or tailored trousers and the skirt with a button-down, knit or tee.

Who What Wear UK’s senior fashion and beauty editor of branded content Rebecca Rhys-Evans also recently wore the set, proving its wearability by styling it with minimal black accessories. Rhys-Evans took an “office siren” approach to her suit styling, letting the fitted blazer and pleated mini do the talking.

(Image credit: Courtesy of Emilia Wickstead)

Spotted across the A/W ’24 collections we’ve seen so far this fashion month, the matching skirt set is destined to grow into a prominent trend in 2024.

To shop the skirt set that fashion people are backing this season, read on to find it below, along with our other favourite coordinating skirt sets.

Jennifer Lawrence Wore a $143 Skirt That’s Sure to Sell Out

More than maybe any other A-list celebrity right now, Jennifer Lawrence understands the art of a chic, no-frills outfit. Consistently, while her fellow street style favorites dodge photographers across Los Angeles and New York City in meticulously crafted daytime ensembles, the No Hard Feelings actress is seen wearing something that appears completely effortless, albeit undeniably chic. And her most recent outfit, worn for lunch with her parents at Grill on the Alley in Beverly Hills, is hardly an exception.

For the outing, Lawrence chose a simple white tee (granted it’s from The Row) that she nonchalantly tucked into a dark-wash denim maxi skirt. With the combo, she added a green trench coat, black The Row flats, and gold-rim Bottega Veneta aviators. Her choice of skirt—which was secured with another The Row item, this time a black, croc-print belt—is specifically called the Hilla skirt, and despite being full price practically everywhere—including Shopbop, MyTheresa, Net-a-Porter, and Matches—it’s currently on sale at Revolve for nearly $100 less than it’s being sold for across the rest of the internet. Even better, it’s in stock in every size.

Because of this shocking revelation, I’ve come to the conclusion that a complete and utter sellout is all but guaranteed in the coming days, meaning that time is of the essence if you want to score Lawrence’s exact low-key maxi skirt while it’s, 1) on sale and 2) in stock. With that in mind, scroll down to shop the look before it’s too late.

On Jennifer Lawrence: The Row Essentials Chiara Cotton-Jersey T-Shirt ($420), Eva Two Leather Ballet Flats ($890), and belt; Agolde Hilla Long Line Skirt ($143); Bottega Veneta Double-Bridge Metal Aviator Sunglasses ($440)

Horseshoe Jeans Are Trending in a Big Way for Spring 2024

This season’s newest jeans trend is bolder than the ones we’ve become acquainted with in recent months. With a voluminous cut that gives even flared jeans a run for their money, the dramatic horseshoe style is re-establishing denim as a true fashion hero this season. We’ve been spotting them everywhere recently, on influencers, celebrities and London Fashion Week attendees alike, confirming that horseshoe jeans are quickly becoming one of the most popular styles on the market. With Google searches surging by +1300% and fashion devotees styling them on repeat, this new-season trend is firmly on its way to reaching cult status.

Sitting between the waist and hip and flaring out at the knee before tapering slightly at the ankle, this shape adds a sculptural edge to a typical jeans outfit. At LFW we saw the trend styled with full-denim looks, frilly blouses and hourglass blazers, but whilst horseshoe jeans are naturally versatile—jeans are of course one of the easiest items to style—this voluminous shape pairs especially well with form-fitting tops such as light knits, sleeveless styles and T-shirts.

Championed by French fashion house Alaïa, which has been sending horseshoe jeans down the runway for several seasons, more and more brands are getting on board this spring. Whilst designer labels offer the silhouette in its most dramatic form, high-street retailers such as COS and River Island stock subtler and more wearable takes on the horseshoe silhouette.

Below, I’ve pulled together the best interpretations of the horseshoe jeans trend for every budget. Scroll on to see them.
