In case you missed it, the 96th annual Academy Awards took place last night in Los Angeles. While there were many notable moments in both the beauty and fashion arenas, there was one moment in particular that sparked some serious surprise all over the internet. We’re talking about Vanessa Hudgens debuting a baby bump on the red carpet!
The recently married High School Musical alum appeared on the red carpet wearing a sleek, black Vera Wang dress complete with sparkling Chopard jewelry. Sure, the look was stunning, but we couldn’t help but notice her glowing skin. What can we say? We’re beauty editors, and a flawless complexion is our kryptonite. Keep scrolling to see the surprising $35 skincare-makeup hybrid that accentuated Hudgens’ pregnancy glow. Hint: it’s infused with sunscreen…
Celebrity makeup artist, Tonya Brewer, was the expert behind the look. She used the Australian “suncare meets skincare” brand, Naked Sundays to dial up her glow.
“To prep Vanessa’s skin I applied the CabanaGlow SPF50 Mineral Glow Serum Drops in the shade Bronze by buffing it into the skin,” Brewer said in a press release. “I love the warm. glowy, and illuminating finish this serum gives!”
Infused with SPF 30, these serum drops add sun protection to the skin while imparting a serious glow thanks to the combination of illuminating and bronzing pigments. You can apply these to bare skin, add them to your moisturizer, or pat them over the top of makeup for a natural-looking sun-kissed effect.
Naked Sundays
SPF Bff Brush
Brewer used this brush to blend the product into Hudgens skin for a seamless look.
Before attending the Vanity Fair Oscars Party, Hudgens changed into a shoulder-baring dress. To make sure her body was just as radiant as her face, Brewer used another Naked Sundays sunscreen that’s infused with golden flecks.

Spring is in the air and as much as I’m excited for longer evenings and a warm breeze, my real elation is rooted in the fact that it’s finally my shoe collections time to shine. Having had to resort to thick-soled black boots to get me across the puddle adorned streets of London, the new season offers respite from chilly rain and the promise of a little more styling versatility.
As such, I’m taking the turn of the seasons as the opportunity to whip out my favourite pair of shoes. Putting some shine back on the cities streets, this season there’s no other shoe I’d rather wear than a studded flat. With a peppering of studs crowing the shoe, this shoe trend elevates and exaggerates an outfit with no extra effort.
I’m not the only one to catch the studded-flats-bug—all of my favourite stylists and influencers are on board with the trend. Dressing up their wide leg trousers, or adding a glamorous edge to their favourite pair of jeans, the style set are embracing the trending shoe for spring.
Although they’re far more comfortable than any heel, these shoes manage to convey the same elegant energy. As we move through the spring months and towards wedding season, consider this comfortable buy as an alternative to heels to ensure that you can stay on the dance floor all night long.
Whilst designer brands such a Khaite and Alaia are favourite amongst the fashion set, high street retailers such as Mango and Reformation have come out with elegant and more affordable styles too. Read on to discover our edit of the best studded flat shoes available to buy now.

Naturally, when I see that J.Crew has a new sale going on I drop what I am doing to see if what I have been eyeing was included in the latest discounts. I’ve been a huge fan of the J.Crew renaissance but I’m even a bigger fan of when the new collections go on major sale—This one happens to be going on until Monday, March 10 with discounts of up to 40% off so I was not going to sleep on it.
To say the least, I ended up with a cart full of pieces that are too chic to pass up. Think a mix of closet staples like basic tops and denim, as well as some trendier pieces including kitten heel boots and statement earrings. I highly recommend you take a minute to peruse 23 of my favorites below to help you weed through the endless selection on the J.Crew site. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.

Perhaps it’s the fact Dakota Johnson resides in a warmer climate than us Brits, or maybe its her A-list inner circle that’s keeping her up to date, but the actor does seem to be that bit ahead of the rest of us when it comes in styling up the latest spring trends. Jumping onto a trend that London is about to be swept with, Johnson’s latest look involves a jeans-and-trainer combination that brought a fashionable twist to her comfortable errand-running outfit.
Stepping out in L.A., Johnson selected a pair of bright white cropped jeans to act as the base of her look. With a fresher feel than any blue, black or grey pair, white jeans offer an easy way to lighten up an outfit for the spring/summer months, without any extra effort.
Tapping into another growing spring trend, Johnson chose to style her cropped jeans with some sage-green Adidas trainers. Whilst most of London is still wearing boots on the daily, slowly but surely the colourful trainer trend is emerging as one of the biggest of the season. Whilst we’ve seen red, brown and blue shades all get snapped up by the style set, Johnson’s muted green pair taps into the growing olive-green colour obsession that is set to usurp red this spring.
Keeping her errand-running outfit comfortable and relaxed, Johnson paired her look with a slouchy jumper and a pair of sunglasses. Whilst L.A. remains ahead of us on the warm-weather front, I can guarantee that in a few weeks time London will be lit up with white jeans and colourful trainers—that’s practically a promise.
To get Dakota Johnson’s look and shop the emerging spring trends, read on to discover our edit of the best white jeans and colourful trainers below.

And just like that, fashion week is over. Well, at least until everyone reconvenes again in September. Over the course of the last four weeks, we’ve clocked plenty of rising trends from the runway and reported everything you need to know about fall 2024 fashion. But while we’ll have to wait another six months to actually start shopping what we just saw on the runways, there’s no waiting period to get inspired by the cool trends we spotted show-goers wearing in New York, London, Milan, and Paris.
Fashion week is the breeding ground for the coolest on-the-rise trends and this season was no exception—the street style scene debuted plenty of innovative new styling tricks and forward accessories and it doubled-down on everyone’s favorite spring It color, burgundy. Ahead, we’re dissecting the top seven fashion week trends that insiders wore to the fall shows and, of course, giving you shopping inspiration on how we’d go about achieving each look.
And just like that, Fashion Month has come to a close, my, what an impression it has made. While it can’t be said for every seasonal showcase, dare I say, the best of autumn/winter 2024 was saved ’til last, with Paris sounding off what’s set to be an amazing season ahead. During Paris Fashion Week alone there were a total of 108 shows and presentations to take in, which equates to one thing: Lots of clothes, shoes, bags and accessories for editors to now analyse. Less than 24 hours after Chanel’s show—an event that’s long been considered a highlight for any fashion fan—still soaking in the spectacle of it all, I thought now would be the best time to talk you through the key trends we saw on the Paris Fashion Week runways while they’re still fresh in my mind.
If I had to sum up Paris’s mood for autumn/winter 2024, it would be elevated wearability. Aside from some interesting play on portions at Loewe and Commes des Garçons, as well as a bag made of 99% air at Coperni, it didn’t take much imagination to see how the vast majority of collections would settle in nicely even in the wardrobes of the most tepid dresser. A/W 24 is truly a season of ready-to-wear refinement, embodied by one brand in particular which proved to be the toast of the town.
The first looks for autumn are already surpassing my expectations—below, you’ll find the seven most important Paris Fashion Week runway trends to know about now for later in 2024.
7 NOTEWORTHY TRENDS FROM PARIS FASHION WEEK’S AUTUMN/WINTER 2024 RUNWAYS
1. #CHLOÉCORE
Style Notes: Let’s get one thing clear—Chloé never went away. In recent years the brand has seen major success with cult items, such as its Woody tote bag and matching sandals, which have made the summer edits of fashionable people both here and in France. However, some might say that the brand’s larger ready-to-wear collections had lost their unique spark during the same period.
However, with a new creative director at the helm, the buzz around Chemena Kamali’s Chloé debut was palpable in a Paris. Perhaps the strongest inaugural collection in recent memory—for me it is matched only by Christopher Bailey’s first foray for Burberry; it might even surpass it—every one is going to want to be a Chloé girl come A/W 24. Kamali’s gorgeous exploration of the brand’s boho roots has ensured this is trend we’re going to see a lot of this season (most likely on the back of Sienna Miller, who took her rightful place on the front row for the show). I’m mighty glad I still have my Chloé Drew bag, let me tell you.

2. DOUBLE YOUR DENIM
Style Notes: A trend we’re already seeing a lot of right now is double denim and, if the Paris Fashion Week runways confirmed anything, it’s that we’re going to continue to see this pairing dominate when we enter the second half of the year.
As seen at Schiaparelli, Victoria Beckham and Dior, even brands who are known more for their elegant aesthetics and couture-grade craftspersonship than they are they’re day-to-day wearability served up double-dose denim outfits to very chic standard. Of course, this a trend you can easily re-create with denim pieces you already have in your wardrobe, they need not match perfectly, but you can absolutely expect to see more deliberate denim co-ords on the market from here on out.

3. THE GREAT DRAPE
Style Notes: We’ve all heard the saying “dress for the job you want, not the job you have”. Well, apparently, the designers who show at Paris Fashion Week think we should all aspire to be goddesses this year, and I’m not angry about it. We saw drapery take its place as a core trend during the spring/summer 2024 showcase back in September, with the exploration of form, fabric and fluidity proving to be just as captivating to creative directors for next season, too.
Drapes came with added structure by way of a grey woollen mini at Louis Vuitton, while Balmain embraced hyper-femininity with its cupped, form-sculpting gown in the most gorgeous tone of sage green. Prediction: Schiaparelli’s cream bandeau dress will be worn by an A-lister on the red carpet before the year’s out (my money’s on Zendaya).

4. KISS FROM A ROSE
Style Notes: There’s nothing I love more than colour-trend spotting—they’re always one of the easiest ways to make your wardrobe feel more current without the heavy commitment. If I’m being honest, I was worried that yet another season would be overruled by bright red. Don’t get me wrong—I love the almost juicy tones of red we’ve been treated to lately but, as a writer, I was hoping I’d have a different subject matter for A/W 24.
Although red-adjacent, I was blown away by the breathtaking pinks we saw on the Paris Fashion Week runways. Victoria Beckham, Stella McCartney and, yes, Chloé, are just some of the mega brands that embraced a beautiful rose-pink palette, which is easily the prettiest trend takeaway from the last week.

5. FRIEND OR FAUX
Style Notes: All fashion month, our editors have taken note of one especially cool theme of ultra-tactile fabrics—think feathers and fringing and wool—but there’s one in particular we’ve seen over and over again.
Sure to make anyone who made the mob-wife aesthetic their “thing” in early 2024, rest assured that faux fur coat you bought will stand you in good stead for autumn/winter still. Balmain gave us green while Stella McCartney kept things fresh in white. Louis Vuitton then came into play with its tan and beige iterations, which proved to be just as much of a mood. Grab your leather gloves and chunkiest gold jewels—this autumn is all about that fabulous Sopranos housewife energy.

6. SKIRT THE ISSUE
Style Notes: Designers are still championing suiting in a big way in Paris right now and for next season, too, but something that does feel all the more impactful for A/W ’24 is the rise of the skirt suit.
Glossy two-pieces were the order of the day at Louis Vuitton, which teamed its key-lime co-ord with subtle sparkle for even more finesse. Miu Miu kept things classic with a grey cropped jacket and pencil skirt (which was great as it validated a recent purchase from Mango for me). Then, naturally, there was Chanel—no one does a skirt suit like Chanel! My favourites were a beautiful checked tweed painted in colours reminiscent of a sunset.

7. SHINE TIME
Style Notes: Leather pieces always feature heavily in the autumn/winter collections, regardless of the city or the other trends we see happening around them. Looking back at my favourite shows from Paris Fashion Week specifically, I saw a pattern begin to emerge. Where there was leather—be it real or faux—it came with a high-shine, vinyl finish.
Not only does this update make leather items look and feel more timely, but I’d argue it’s more practical, too. Less porous and prone-to-marking than matte leather, the gloss-like film makes vinyl pieces especially handy for wearing in the rain. Something which, as you well know, we get a lot of here in Britain. Thank you, Paris, for thinking of us so.
Apparently, Sienna Miller and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley have both been in the market to shake up their trouser collections and have landed on a very similar staple that ticks the “anti-trend” box whilst offering something fresh for spring.
Settling on a pair of beige trousers, both style icons revitalised their transeasonal wardrobes by incorporating the classic pant style in their latest outfits. Whilst Miller selected a wide-leg, cropped denim style, and Huntington-Whiteley chose a draping longline trouser, both were able to achieve a polished effect with their choices, whilst giving their ensembles a lighter feel than they would have had they gone for a black or grey trouser.
Thanks to its neutral tone, a beige trouser presents huge amounts of styling potential. Wearing well with tan, camel and brown shades, the combination will tap into the growing “latte” dressing trend whilst offering a simple formula for a chic ensemble. Still, it works just as well as a canvas to brighter colours, too—I’d argue it feels more “fashion” to add beige to hues such as saffron red or avocado green than it does defaulting to cream or white.
As we move between the seasons, the fashion consensus seems to be to swap your darker-palette trousers for something a little fresher, and the beige trouser trend offers just that.
While they’ll never outright replace blue jeans, there is something about a beige trouser that feels more directional and polished, and brands across the board are serving up their own iterations of them to sway us. From Reformation’s tried-and-true Mason trousers, to The Row’s perfectly pleated pair, shop our edit of the best beige trousers available now at every price point.

On the list of things that bring me joy in life, Nordstrom’s new arrivals page ranks higher than one might expect—especially when a new season is nearing, which gives me the excuse to purchase a few closet refreshers. This winter, I leaned heavily into the denim, cashmere, and coat formula, but I need a change of pace for spring. For proportion play, I’m styling mini lengths with tall boots. For texture, I’m looking to incorporate sequins and sheer fabrics. And when it comes to colors, I’ll be keeping it tame for optimal mix-and-match potential. Per usual, Nordstrom has everything on my checklist (and a few discoveries I didn’t know I needed). Join me in my spring closet refresh by shopping the following 30 items.

When I was younger, daily sun protection wasn’t as stressed as it is now. Sure, Id put on sunblock if I knew I was going to be in the sun outright, but it didn’t cross my mind on an average day. Now, I’m making up for lost time with a strict SPF regimen and other skincare necessities to protect my skin and hopefully reverse some of the damage I caused. One tactic I like to use is the occasional laser resurfacing session, which helps reduce some of the pigmentation caused by the mishaps from my youth, among other benefits. Laser treatments, including non-ablative fractional lasers like Clear and Brilliant and Fraxel Dual, help improve skin texture (which was something I needed), even out skin tone, and improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, and the aforementioned sun damage.
While getting these treatments done can dramatically benefit the skin, it’s not a one-and-done situation. Yes, they require repeated sessions for optimal results, but I’m talking about post-treatment care, too. It’s just as important to adequately care for your skin for the following days, weeks, and beyond following your treatment. (Think temporarily avoiding harsh ingredients, like retinol and acids, as well as being diligent with sunscreen.)
However, there is also the matter of using the right products. I’ll admit that there was a time I got a laser resurfacing treatment done and did not keep up with my aftercare. It didn’t completely mess up my results or instantly revert my skin to its original state, thankfully, but the next time I got a treatment done, I made sure to follow the post-care instructions to a T. Now, I know which products to use and what to avoid so my skin maintains the bright and glowy results for as long as possible.
One of my new favorites for post-treatment care is Saint Jane Beauty’s Star Flower Serum ($95). The serum is straight-up pretty—it’s filled with micro pearls that sparkle under the light. Those tiny pearls are filled with hydration and actives, like niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, and starflower, aka borage oil. The titular ingredient, starflower, has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties and has a demonstrated ability to improve skin barrier function.
Saint Jane Beauty
Star Flower Hydration Serum With Niacinamide and Hyaluronic Acid
What’s more, it’s also gentle enough to use after a laser resurfacing treatmtent. The brand partnered with facial plastic surgeon Sheena Samra, MD, who tested it with her patients. “The key ingredient, niacinamide, is anti-inflammatory and it has antioxidants in it. It’s essentially calming the skin, which decreases the redness. And when the skin is less inflamed, new healthy skin can grow,” Samra tells me. “The starflower borage oil also suits the skin. So, anecdotally, my patients are very pleased in the healing process because their skin just feels taken care of.”
Samra adds that a handful of her patients loved it so much that they continued to use it long after the treatment. “It’s now part of their everyday skincare routine. Some are prone to having skin that’s more sensitive, and this product eases that.” If you’re thinking of getting a laser resurfacing treatment, don’t do what I did and get lazy about post-treatment care. Better yet, take it from a pro. “When you have a laser done like Clear and Brilliant, we want to help repair your skin barrier and keep it protected from the sun,” says Samra. “The most important thing would be to continue to wash your face twice a day and keep it really clean, and then apply some form of serum that will help ease inflammation and hydrate the skin.”

Alastin Skincare
Regenerating Skin Nectar With TriHex Technology
I’ve become a huge fan of Alastin’s line over the past year and have used this “nectar” after a treatment to calm my skin. It contains arnica, antioxidants derived from saltwater micro-algae, and a complex that clears out damaged collagen and elastin. All of these help reduce recovery after a treatment.
H.E.O. stands for humectants, emollients, and occlusives. Clever, right? But it uses all of these ingredients to pump the skin full of hydration. You can use it all over the face or in specific areas that need extra attention following procedures such as micro-needling, microdermabrasion, lasers, and chemical peels.
Shani Darden Skin Care
Signature Nourishing Facial Mask with Squalane
With hydrating squalane, calming colloidal oatmeal, and a soothing triple tea complex, this mask isn’t just a treatment; it’s a treat. Use it after cleansing and keep it on for 10 to 15 minutes to reduce skin redness.
Cetaphil
Gentle Skin Cleanser
After something like a laser resurfacing treatment, you’re going to need a super-gentle cleanser to wash your face. Cetaphil is a go-to, as it has everything you need to keep skin hydrated, soothed, and protected like glycerin, panthenol, and niacinamide.
This classic skin protectant is something to keep in your bag at all times. You can use it to treat dry and chafed skin and also help restore the skin barrier after a noninvasive treatment.
Glo Skin Beauty
Bio-Renew EGF Cream
When your skin is super dehydrated and in need of rejuvenation, this face cream is an incredible choice. It has 1% vegan epidermal growth factor that mimics human protein to boost the production of elastin and collagen but also has peptides to help repair and firm skin and a plant-based retinol for fighting fine lines.
La Roche-Posay
Cicaplast Gel B5 Skin Protectant
This skin barrier savior is made with glycerin, panthenol, and madecassoside that helps the skin repair itself. It’s a good product to keep stocked because you can use it following a procedure, on stitches, and any time your skin feels chafed or irritated.

You can use it before and after procedures like lasers and micro-needling.
