Though Bobbie Jean has remained out of the spotlight since the family’s reality show House of Carters ended in 2006, she made headlines earlier this year when she was arrested in Florida for shoplifting and allegedly carrying fentanyl.

Following her older sister’s passing, Angel looked back on the highs and lows Bobbie Jean experienced. “Life wasn’t fair to you,” she wrote in a Dec. 24 tribute to her older sister. “Sometimes, it feels like you didn’t have a shot, no matter what.”

“Experiencing innocence instead of being burdened by trauma, pain, and suffering is incredibly important for children, particularly at such a young age,” she continued. “I know why Leslie, Aaron, and now you ended up in the circumstances that you did. I share that pain we experienced during our childhood and I’m sorry you didn’t have an opportunity for a better life.”

Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert are feeling merry and bright. 

Nearly two weeks after Hayley underwent emergency skull surgery, she and the Dancing With the Stars judge celebrated their first Christmas together as a married couple. 

“Cherishing the greatest gift of all. The precious gift of life and the love we share,” they wrote in a joint Instagram. “Hold your loved ones close and treasure every moment.”

And they’re taking their own advice. In their snap, the newlyweds—who said “I do” in August—were seen sharing a sweet kiss while cuddled up under the tree. As they wrote, “Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas!”

It’s a moment they weren’t sure they would get to share. After all, following their Dec. 6 Symphony of Dance tour performance in Washington, D.C., Hayley became disoriented and was taken to the hospital. There, she was diagnosed with a cranial hematoma from a burst blood vessel and, during surgery, part of her skull was removed to ease pressure on her brain.

“I am worried about Caleb,” she says in a confessional, before becoming emotional. “I think he’ll let the depression set in before he hits rock bottom again and gets determined to come home. I feel guilty. I’m numb, I don’t know how to feel—overwhelmed, stressed out, just everything.”

For Tammy, putting on a brave face for her family—including sister Amy Slaton—remained her focus.

“I’m being strong for Caleb, Amy, the kids,” she continued. “If I crumble right now, the whole world will go to hell. More than it already is.”

In July, the 36-year-old shared that Caleb had passed away, remembering her husband as a “sweet angel.”

“You will forever be missed and loved so much,” she wrote in an Instagram post honoring the 40-year-old. “Thank you, Caleb for showing me real love and happiness.”

“I did a lot of things to create a dynamic, to create an element of surprise, of spontaneity, and to really break down any kind of walls that may be there,” he told E! News at the premiere. “The Joker is somebody who doesn’t really respect things like personal space or boundaries.”

But in 2021, Leto clarified the reports of his gag gifts, telling Entertainment Weekly, “Any of the very few gifts that were ever given were given with a spirit of fun and adventure and received with laughter, fun and adventure.”

He added, “I’m playing a guy called the Joker, it’s okay to play some jokes. Nothing ever crossed any lines, and it’s not up to other people on the internet to create those lines… I’m an artist at the end of the day. If I do something risky and you don’t like it, basically, you can kiss my ass.”

What’s in a name? A lot, according to these stars.

After all, a unique moniker sticks in the mind better than a catchy jingle. Take Miley Cyrus, who was born Destiny Hope Cyrus but adopted a stage name based on her childhood nickname “Smiley” when she started acting in Hannah Montana. Fast forward to 2008, the singer legally changed her full name to Miley Ray Cyrus, with her new middle name serving as a nod to both her dad Billy Ray Cyrus and grandfather Ronald Ray Cyrus.

“A lot of people say Miley changed her name to Miley Ray because of Billy Ray, but that’s not true,” Billy Ray told CNN in 2009. “She did that in honor of my dad, because the two of them just loved each other to pieces.”

In other cases, celebs simply changed their names to avoid confusion. For instance, Jason Sudeikis‘ mom started calling him by his middle name instead since both he and his dad share the first name Daniel, while Emma Stone had to register in the Screen Actors Guild with a moniker different from her birthname because there was already an Emily Stone in the system.

However, Travis later shared his regrets for missing one delicate moment at the concert—the high-five with Taylor’s dad.

“You were so shocked,” Jason recounted to his brother during the Nov. 15 episode of their New Heights podcast, “you left Scott hanging.”

“Yeah, Mr. Swift, I apologize, big guy,” Travis replied. “Oh man, I missed that. I never miss a high five, too. It’s the most electric thing you can do at an event.”

Shohei Ohtani just hit a home run with this Christmas gift.

The Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher surprised teammate Joe Kelly‘s wife Ashley Kelly, who heavily campaigned for the 29-year-old to join the team, with a new car for the holiday. As seen in a video shared on Dec. 24, Ashley opened the front door to a silver Porsche sitting on the street with a giant red bow on its roof.

“It’s yours from Shohei,” she was told in the clip. “He wanted to gift you a Porsche.” 

Needless to say, the present was quite unexpected. In fact, Ashley—who shares kids Knox, Crue, Blake and Kai with Joe—jokingly noted that she wasn’t quite dressed for visitors at the time.

“Shokai’s beautiful bra-less mom opened the door to one of the coolest days of her life,” she wrote on Instagram, referencing the nickname she gave her youngest son in honor of Shohei. “Thank you, @shoheiohtani.”

Kourtney Kardashian is feeling this Christmas.

Case in point? The Kardashians star dressed up her and Travis Barker‘s 1-month-old son Rocky in the most festive attire to celebrate the holiday season. As seen in a photo shared on Dec. 24, the baby boy’s feet were clad in tiny socks knitted to resemble elf boots.

Kourtney captioned the adorable snap with an emoji of a smiling face surrounded by hearts.

The post comes two days after Kourtney and the Blink-182 drummer shared the first glimpse of their child. In a carousel of images shared to Instagram, the couple was pictured cradling their little one in their arms. Other photos included a snapshot of the Poosh founder breastfeeding and a pic of Travis planting a sweet kiss on his newborn son.

And Kourtney—who also shares kids Mason, 14, Penelope, 11, and Reign, 9, with ex Scott Disick—is “taking time to slowly ease back” into her routine. As she shared in a Dec. 23 Instagram Story, her workouts have taken a backseat as she continues “doing the most important job in the world…being a mommy.”
