A mislabeled holiday dessert has led to the death of a talented young dancer.

New York performer Órla Baxendale died Jan. 11 due to anaphylactic shock resulting from a “severe” allergic reaction, her lawyer shared in a statement Jan. 24. She was 25.

Baxendale’s passing was caused by “an unfortunate incident” after she ate a cookie that contained undisclosed peanuts, according to her legal team, which called the mislabel a “tragic oversight.”

Following her death, supermarket chain Stew Leonard’s recalled about 500 packages of the Vanilla Florentine Cookie that were sold from Nov. 6 to Dec. 31 at stores in Danbury and Newington, Conn., per the Associated Press.

The dancer’s lawyer said the medical emergency was caused by “gross negligence and reckless conduct,” because the manufacturer or seller allegedly “failed to properly identify the contents of the cookie on the packaging.” 

Sharing his devastation over the incident, Stew Leonard’s CEO Stew Leonard Jr. said the supplier changed the recipe from soy nuts to peanuts without notifying them. However, the manufacturer Cookies United said it had informed Stew Leonard’s of the ingredient change several months prior.

Kylie Jenner and Jordyn Woods met when they were in eighth grade through their mutual friend Jaden Smith.

“One day I got a phone call from one of my friends and they were like, ‘Yeah, come over to Kylie’s house. We all wanna hang out,'” Woods explained in a Buzzfeed interview.

Marissa’s Remote Work Request and the Fallout:

Marissa told Today that she and two superiors initially established a remote work schedule. But Ying later rejected the accommodation.

‘Hey, unfortunately, we won’t be able to [make this arrangement] and for that reason, we will take this as your resignation,'” Marissa recalled being told, saying they added, “When you get home and you decide that you want to work again, we would consider taking you back.”

In a Jan. 22 email to Today, a Kyte Baby spokesperson said, “Ying did not feel her job could be done remotely and if she could not return to the office after her maternity leave, then we would part ways.” The rep added that Marissa was told “a job would be there when she was ready to return.”

Just a few days before Marissa’s interview, a rep for the company told CNN that as she had been with the company for about seven months, she qualified for two weeks of paid maternity leave.

More details have emerged about Adam Harrison‘s sudden passing. 

The 39-year-old died from a fentanyl overdose, his father, Pawn Stars host Rick Harrison, confirmed to E! News on Jan. 25.

Adam, who Rick shared with ex-wife Kim Harrison, was found dead on Jan. 19, with the family’s rep attributing the death to a non-specific overdose at the time.

“Our family is extremely saddened by the death of Adam,” his loved ones said in a statement through their rep. “We ask for privacy as we grieve his loss.”

Adam was the second-eldest of Rick’s three sons. He and Kim are also parents to Corey “Big Hoss” Harrison, 40, while the Rick is also a dad to son Jake Harrison, his first child with second ex-wife Tracy Harrison.

Both Rick and Corey shared tributes to Adam—who was nicknamed “Wax”—after his passing. For his part, Corey captioned a Jan. 20 throwback image of him and his brother as children, “Wax wtf I will always love you bubba.”

When Mauricio made his debut on Dancing With the Stars, Kyle was in the ballroom to support him and his partner Emma Slater as they performed a jive.

And Kyle took her support a quick-step further, detailing how to vote for Mauricio on her Instagram Story.

After the DWTS premiere, Mauricio offered a status update on their marriage.

“We were dealing with our own things, kind of, super quietly and internally, just our own issues,” he explained on the Sept. 28 episode of The Agency’s Red Mic podcast. “I mean, certainly, we’re not separated. We’re not divorced at this point. We are not any of that stuff. We’re still dealing with our marriage.”

The 53-year-old noted he’s grateful they went nearly three decades without ever encountering marriage troubles.

“It’s been an amazing 26 years and it’s been a difficult one year,” he said. “Kyle and I are blessed, where we actually had 26 years that we did not have a bad year, and I know most marriages have bad months, bad weeks, bad years.”

Mauricio then addressed rumors that he and Kyle staged their separation to garner publicity. 

“I am not going to destroy my life to put a plant in the news so people can get more entertainment,” he stated, insisting that he’s “not that smart or that conniving.”
