Ayo Edebiri Relatably Butchers 2024 SAG Awards Acceptance Speech

Can Ayo Edebiri get a “yes, chef”?

After all, The Bear star took home the award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series at the 2024 Screen Actors Guild Awards, beating out The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel‘s Alex Borstein and Rachel Brosnahan, Ted Lasso‘s Hannah Waddingham and Abbott Elementary‘s Quinta Brunson.

And during her speech, the 28-year-old had a very relatable moment when she tried to recall a famous quote off the cuff. (See everyone who came home with a win here.)

“I’m looking out at this room of people whose work moves me, and motivates me, and I’m just so grateful to be here,” Ayo said while accepting her trophy on stage Feb. 24, just moments after her costar Jeremy Allen White won. “And I’m going to butcher, just really bastardize a James Baldwin quote because I heard it the other day, but, ‘The act of love is just really an act of mirroring.’ And I think anything that anybody sees in me that’s worth anything is because of the people who love me and support me and it made me who I am.”

Stunning in a black and white gingham gown, the Bottoms actress went on name her castmates on the Hulu series as part of that special group.

How Jason Sudeikis Reacted After SAG Award Goes to Jeremy Allen White

Much like Ted LassoJason Sudeikis can’t always be a winner.

At the 2024 SAG Awards Feb. 24, the actor lost the award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series to The Bear‘s Jeremy Allen White, but much like his TV alter ego, Jason was incredibly kind about it. (See the full list of winners here.)

As Jeremy made his way to the stage, Jason gave him a huge round of applause and could be seen mouthing to the camera, “Yeah, yeah, he can have it.”

After shouting out his fellow nominee and costar Ebon Moss-Bachrach, as well as the FX show’s cast and crew, Jeremy reflected on what being an actor means to him.

“I’m so honored to be in this community,” he said from the stage. “I’ve wanted to be apart of this community for my whole life. I had no backup plan. I started very young and I’m just so incredibly touched to be standing in front of you all today and to get this from my peers who I admire so much.”

After thanking his daughters Ezer, 5, and Dolores, 3—whom he shares with ex Addison Timlin—the 33-year-old joked, “Wow, they give you a lot of time at this one, but that’s all I have.”

Carey Mulligan Tells What She Learned From Bradley Cooper at 2024 SAGs

In fact, he previously admitted how intense this role was to embody.

“Lenny was harder,” he told E! in December. “First of all, he was a real person, so the responsibility felt much bigger and he was just so, so idiosyncratic.”

And part of this was the amount of time he embodied the composer, adding, “This was a guy from 25 to 67 years old. It was not even comparable the level of difficulty it felt for me. I was terrified.”

“There were a lot of people here who took a chance on this idea,” the Silver Linings Playbook star added, “so, I feel relieved.”

Everybody Wants to See This Devil Wears Prada Reunion

We just got a groundbreaking Devil Wears Prada reunion. That’s all.

Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt reunited at the 2024 SAG Awards on Feb. 24, nearly 18 years after their iconic movie debuted. For the occasion, the former costars made us scream their names by presenting Male Actor in a Comedy Series together on stage—with Anne and Emily even turning the tables on Miranda Priestly herself.

Emily—who is nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role for playing Kitty in Oppenheimer—even joked Meryl and her character are “like twins.”

In fact, the 74-year-old channeled the Dragon Lady herself in an elegant Prada look, while Anne wore a cerulean blue Atelier Versace SS15 Couture look, in true Andy Sachs (and Mia Thermopolis!) fashion.

And although the actresses have reunited over the years in pairs, getting a Devil Wears Prada moment with all three stars is basically rarer than getting an unpublished Harry Potter manuscript.

Revenge’s Emily VanCamp and Josh Bowman Expecting Baby No. 2

It was a fairy tale romance for Dallas and Goodwin when they co-starred on ABC’s fantasy hit Once Upon a Time, playing Prince Charming and Snow White, of course.

“It hit me like a blinding light,” Dallas told People in 2012. “I thought, ‘I’m in trouble now.'”

As for Goodwin, she knew Dallas was the one when they went on their first date to Disneyland.

“I knew that in fact I was going to marry my husband Josh at Disneyland because I took him for his first time ever and we had just started dating,” Goodwin would later detail to Kelly Ripa. “We were on Big Thunder Mountain and he threw his arms in the air and he goes, ‘This is the best day of my life’ and I was like, ‘We’re totally getting married.'”

He popped the question in October 2013 and they tied the knot in April 2014. Dallas and Goodwin are the parents of sons Oliver, 9, and Hugo, 6, and the Manifest star is hoping to work with his wife again after their six-year stint on OUAT.

“She’s the greatest. I miss working with her every day,” he said on Live with Kelly and Ryan. “I think she was like, ‘look, we’ve worked together and we’ve lived together six years, give me a break.’ But I think we’ll work together again, I hope so.”
