Sigh, this one stung. Don’t you just hate it when the winning couple is one of the first ones to split? After getting together just weeks before the finale, with Greg being one of the last Islanders to join the villa, the fan-favorite pair managed to win season five. But they broke up just weeks later. 

After some mild controversy and back and forth between the couple over how exactly the split went down (apparently Greg, a rugby player based in Ireland, ended it via text), Amber said on Loose Women, “I think the careers and the distance was always a factor. It was always something that we knew about, so I don’t know what changed. I kind of wanted to make it work, but it is what it is, really.”

As for Greg, he defended himself, saying on RTE’s The Late Late Show, “She lives in the UK, every brand wants to work with her, every event wants her there, of course, she deserves all of it and I decided to come back to Ireland and do my thing here.”

“Out of respect for the ongoing legal situation, I cannot comment on everything that is being reported right now. But I do want to say I clearly had one drink too many and I am deeply embarrassed about the things I said,” she said in a statement. “It was definitely a scary situation and I was frightened for my husband, but that was no excuse. I was disrespectful to the officer who was just doing his job. The words I used that night definitely do not reflect who I am. I have nothing but respect for the police and I am very sorry for my behavior.”

The comedy world has lost a bright star.

Jak Knight, the co-creator of Peacock’s Bust Down and a stand-up comedian, passed away in Los Angeles on July 14, his family said in a statement to NBC News. He was 28.

A cause of death was not given and, in their statement, Knight’s loved ones requested that “their privacy please be respected during this extremely difficult time.”

During the course of his career, Knight held credits in both writing and acting. Not only did he co-create Bust Down, but he also starred in the series alongside Chris Redd, Sam Jay and Langston Kerman. In addition, the comic voiced the character of Devon on the Netflix’s Big Mouth, as well as served as a writer in five seasons of the animated show.

As a writer, he worked on Lucas Bros Moving Co., Black-ish and Immoral Compass.

Back in 2018, Knight reflected on his involvement with Big Mouth. “Being a writer is amazing,” he noted in an interview with RESPECT. Magazine, “and just being in the room with some of the most brilliant people alive and I get to sit across the table with people like Jordan Peele and Maya Rudolph it’s surreal but it’s a lot of work, work.”

Kelly Kay, the girlfriend of late Oregon Ducks tight end Spencer Webb, is remembering the college athlete in the wake of his passing.

“My best friend my twin flame the love of my life,” she began in a July 14 post on Instagram. “I’ve never loved anything as much as i love you. You were my everything, you gave me purpose, you showed me what it’s like to be cherished and valued and seen for me.”

The 22-year-old football player passed away on July 13 after suffering an accidental fall. In a statement from the Lane County Sheriff’s Office, police noted that Spencer was located about 100 yards down a steep trail after he “fell and struck his head.” There is no evidence of foul play and the manner of his death “appears to be accidental,” per authorities.

In her tribute, which featured photos of Kelly and Spencer throughout their relationship, she noted that she and the Sacramento-native had “so many big plans.”

Meanwhile, Donald, who was married to Ivana from 1977 to 1992, also mourned Ivana in a statement of his own. 

“I am very saddened to inform all of those that loved her, of which there are many, that Ivana Trump has passed away at her home in New York City,” he wrote. “She was a wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman, who led a great and inspirational life.”

He added, “Her pride and joy were her three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric. She was so proud of them, as we were all so proud of her. Rest In Peace, Ivana!”

Abby De La Rosa just added to fuel to the fire when it comes to those theories on whether or not Nick Cannon is engaged.

Abby, who shares 12-month-old twin boys Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir with Nick, took to Instagram on July 15 with a video of herself and the Wild ‘n Out star on vacation in the Bahamas. In the clip, she and Nick shared a laugh after she dubbed him as her “newly engaged baby daddy.”

However, Abby noted in the caption, “And NO, it’s not with me! Lmaoooo Congratulations Nick!”

Her celebratory post comes just one day after Nick raised eyebrows with a post of his own. On July 14, the 41-year-old shared an image of himself hugging a woman and a close-up picture of a diamond ring.

“I said I would never do it again,” he wrote, “but…Finally doing what the world wants me to do.”

There’s a Serena storm brewing on The Handmaid’s Tale.

With the knowledge that season five of the Hulu drama, premiering September 14, highlights the rise in popularity of Serena (Yvonne Strahovski), we now know she’s getting reinforcements in the form of The Afterparty star Genevieve Angelson.

Angelson will play “Mrs. Wheeler, an affluent Canadian who idolizes Serena and who is a driving force behind the rise of Gilead in Toronto,” according to TVLine. 

The actress confirmed the news on Twitter July 14, posting a photo of herself in the trademark teal of the commanders’ wives on Handmaid’s, with the caption: “Blessed be the project reveal @HandmaidsOnHulu season 5 sept 14”

Angelson, who will reportedly appear on five episodes during season five, has also appeared on New Amsterdam, This Is Us and Blue Bloods. 

Following the death of her husband Commander Waterford (Joseph Fiennes) at the hands of June (Elisabeth Moss) and the other handmaids at the end of season four, the new season will feature Serena looking to “raise her profile in Toronto as Gilead’s influence creeps into Canada,” according to Hulu.

Sounds like she’ll have some support.
