Arterio Morris, the college basketball player who transferred from Texas to Kansas amid assault allegations, has been charged with rape and dismissed from the Jayhawks. He was arrested in Douglas County, Kansas, with a $75,000 bond.

The charges stem from an incident in McCarthy Hall, where a sexual assault on an 18-year-old victim allegedly occurred on August 26. Morris, though not named in the incident report, was suspended from the basketball program.

“We are now aware he has been arrested and charged, and he was dismissed from the program,” Jayhawks coach Bill Self said in a statement to The Associated Press. “As this is an ongoing legal matter, we are not able to comment further at this time.”
