Antony was “left shaken” after being involved in massive car crash on New Year’s Eve – Man United News And Transfer News

Erik ten Hag has worked wonders during his stint as Manchester United manager. He has helped develop a discernible pattern of play while also helping previously under-performing stars find their mojo.

Diogo Dalot and Marcus Rashford are a few of the success stories under the Dutchman, who has used a mix of discipline with a touch of sensitivity and reaped its rewards.

Jadon Sancho, after a period of success under the Dutchman, saw his form waning and the manager has since allowed him time to regroup both mentally and physically.

And the former Ajax coach also allowed Antony to recover from a personal shock and now the Brazilian is reinvigorated and ready to prove his worth again.

The Brazil international, who had a bright start to life as a United winger, has suffered from numerous injuries which has not allowed him to build momentum.

And The Sun have now reported that the right-winger was involved in a car crash on New Year’s Eve which could have gone horribly wrong.

“The Brazilian wrecked his X6 in roadworks after playing in a 1-0 win at Wolves. Cops were called to the scene on the M56 near his home in Hale, Gtr Manchester, and breathalysed the £80million winger.

“He passed and his £100,000 car was recovered. But Antony, 22, was left shaken by the incident,” the outlet reported.

ETH will be hoping Antony can now deliver on early season promise

It was no surprise to see Ten Hag drop him for United’s next game against Bournemouth.

Antony announced his return to the first-team lineup by scoring his team’s opener against Everton in the FA Cup third round encounter.

A source close to the player revealed, “It was dark and wet and he made an error of judgement. He was shook up but thankfully no one else was involved and he wasn’t injured.”

Hopefully, the Brazilian can put this episode behind him and justify Ten Hag’s trust in him in the upcoming matches.
