All Stable Locations in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Is there any sight quite as comforting as spotting that giant wooden horse head in the distance, smoke puffing gently from its nose? Stables in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom are far more than just places to board or take out your tamed horses. These scattered outposts offer a place for Link to rest his head, cook up hearty meals, or even peruse the wares of everyone’s favorite wandering merchant, Beedle.

Stables are also a hub for news, and with Hyrule so changed following the events of the Regional Phenomena, you’ll want to visit every stable to get the scoop if you hope to ever find Princess Zelda. There are fifteen Stables all-in-all across Hyrule, plus two Mini-Stables you can unlock with a little questing. Here’s what you need to know about all Stable locations in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Lucky Clover Gazette Location

Abandoned in the havoc caused by the blizzard in the Hebra Mountains, the former Rito Stable has been converted into a headquarters for the Lucky Clover Gazette. Helmed by the enigmatic Traysi and her flying friend, Penn, be sure to visit the Lucky Clover Gazette and enlist yourself in the mission to track down the missing Princess Zelda. Solve enough Princess Zelda Sightings quests, and you can even unlock the unique Froggy Armor set. Look for the Lucky Clover Gazette on the road just east of Rito Village.

Snowfield Stable Location

North of the massive chasm of Tanagar Canyon, where the Forgotten Temple hides, you can find the Snowfield Stable perched on the road cutting through the South Tabantha Snowfield. On a clear, snow-free day, you can spy the tip of the Pikida Stonegrove Skyview Tower to the northwest. Just don’t venture too far north, unless you want to tussle with a special, feirce enemy!

Tabantha Bridge Stable Location

In the shadow of Mount Rhoam in Hyrule Ridge, the Tabantha Bridge Stable serves as a checkpoint just before the Tabantha Great Bridge. Found on the east side of the bridge, be sure to stock up here before head west across the Tanagar Canyon into the Tabantha Frontier. Giant mushroom-like stone pillars sprout up around the stable, seeming to have spread from the Seres Scablands to the east.

New Serenne Stable Location

Overlooking the eerie sight of Hyrule Castle, suspended in the air by Gloom, the New Serenne Stable can be found in Hyrule Ridge, just northwest from Lookout Landing. North of the New Serenne Stable, you can spy the glowing lines of a massive geoglyph, covering the hills of North Hyrule Plain. Be wary as you cross Carok Bridge on your way west! The path is guarded by a sleeping Hinox, and it doesn’t take kindly to being disturbed.

Woodland Stable Location

Take a small respite before traversing the Lost Woods, home to the mysterious Koroks of Hyrule. The Woodland Stable is aptly named, as it is the Stable located along the road just south of the Great Hyrule Forest. Nearby you can also find Pico Pond and its hidden cave, where you’ll first meet Koltin, Kilton’s Bubbul Gem obssessed brother.

South Akkala Stable Location

Nestled on a crossroads in the South Akkala Plains, the South Akkala Stable is the first Stable you’ll come across after passing over the Akkla Span. You’ll spot it just west of Tarrey Town, the settlement recently constructed atop Lake Akkala by the Hudson Construction Company (and some help from Link). Ask around the South Akkala Stable and you might uncover a rumor about the mysterious all-knowing, “All-Clucking” Cucco, found on the Kanalet Ridge the northeast. What on earth could that be about?

East Akkala Stable Location

Northeast up the road from the South Akkala Stable, you can find its twin, the East Akkala Stable. It sits on yet another crossroads in the North Akkala Foothill. If you keep following the road north, past the Jochi-iu Shrine, you’ll find yourself at the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab. Proceed with caution – Robbie no longer mans the tech lab, and it seems someone else might have taken advantage of its recent inoccupancy.

Foothill Stable Location

Sandwiched on the road between Lake Ferona and Cephla Lake, the Foothill Stable sits, appropriately, at the foot of Death Mountain. You might stumble across this Stable if you choose to go west on the Terniko Trail, instead of east into Akkala. You’ll encounter some very, er, interesting Zonai Survey Team members.

Wetland Stable Location

On your way east towards Zora’s Domain, you might come across the Wetland Stable along the road. Found just west of the Lanayru Wetlands, this Stable has a beauitful view of both Hyrule Castle and the massive Ring Ruins hovering above Kakariko Village to the south. Be sure to check in with Penn while you’re there and see what rumors his little birdies have picked up on in the area.

Outskirt Stable Location

Before you continue on your way to Gerudo, you might want to take a pitstop at the Outskirt Stable. Sitting beneath the looming shadow of the Coliseum Ruins, this Stable can be found not far north of the Great Plateau, where the adventure began in Breath of the Wild. While you’ll encounter another Stable in the Gerudo Canyon, the way there across the Digdogg Suspension Bridge is guarded by a giant Hinox. Better load up on arrows while you can.

Gerudo Canyon Stable Location

On your way into the Gerudo Desert, you’ll eventually come to the mouth of the Gerudo Canyon. Here, right before you enter the desert, you can find the Gerudo Canyon Stable. Unfortunately, you’ll find that this Stable isn’t in working order. In fact, it’s packed to the brim with crates, trapping the previous stablemaster inside. Maybe if you help Piaffe out, you can get the Gerudo Canyon Stable up and running again?

Riverside Stable Location

Perched on the west bank of the Hylia River, you can find the Riverside Stable in Hyrule Fields. This Stable’s big horse-head roof can be spotted from the Owlan Bridge, just a bit south. On the other side of the Hylia River, you can also see the intimidating hulk of the Dueling Peaks. Before crossing under those massive ice-capped peaks, be sure to stop by the Geoglyph just southeast of the Riverside Stable.

Dueling Peaks Stable Location

Sitting directly in the shadow of the Dueling Peaks, the appropriately named Dueling Peaks Stable is the last stable you’re likely to find if you are heading into East Necluda. If you are approaching from the south, you might stumble into a small issue… the Big Twin Bridge is in complete disrepair. Getting a horse across this stretch of the Squabble River will be no small feat.

Highland Stable Location

Dangerous, stormy clouds loom over Faron, but the sky over the Highland Stable in Faron Grasslands is often clear and sunny. The perfect stable to stop at before continuing east into the thick jungle-like woods around Lake Floria and its smaller lakes and rivers. Confident in your riding skills? Chat up Blynne outside the Highland Stable to compete in a little horse riding contest and win your prize.

Lakeside Stable Location

On the west side of the bridge that spans Lake Floria you can find the Lakeside Stable. It’s giant horse-head roof is slightly obscured by the giant palm fronds shading the stable, but as long as you’re following the road, you can’t miss it. The Lakeside Stable seems to have taken orders directly from Princess Zelda herself to create a sanctuary for some bizarre animals never before seen in Hyrule. Might be worth checking out for yourself.

Where to Find Mini-Stables in Tears of the Kingdom

You might be wondering, what the heck is a “mini” stable? With Hyrule in its current condition, a couple of hodgepodge stables have cropped up to help travellers on their journeys, namely in the Gerudo Canyon Pass and Lookout Landing.

The Gerudo Canyon Pass Mini Stable can be found along the Digdogg Suspension Bridge, just before entering the Gerudo Canyon Pass. To access the Lookout Landing Mini Stable, however, you will need to help Lester get it set up by completing The Incomplete Stable side quest.
