Trouble brewing in Manchester as Man City ready swoop for Paul Pogba
Word stemming from the English media on Friday suggests that Paul Pogba could yet continue plying his trade in Manchester beyond the summer, but on the blue half of the city, rather than the red…
The subject of midfielder Pogba’s future has of course long proven a major talking point at Manchester United.
This comes with the Frenchman looking primed to depart the club for the 2nd time in a decade, ahead of the expiration of his contract at Old Trafford in the summer.
A whole host of clubs from across the continent, in turn, have been touted as potential landing spots for Pogba, with the trio of Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Juventus understood to be keen on his signature.
As alluded to above, though, if the latest speculation to have surfaced in the press late on Friday night is anything to go by, then a shock twist could yet be in the tale when it comes to Pogba’s future…
As per a report from Sami Mokbel of the Daily Mail, ‘Manchester City are interested in signing Pogba on a free transfer’.
Pep Guardiola is understood to have identified his side’s ranks in the middle of the park as being in need of reinforcement, ahead of the imminent departure of Fernandinho.
And Pogba, in turn, is one such player to have been shortlisted as a target on the part of the Sky Blues, who have begun ‘exploring’ the terms of a potential deal.
