‘Friends’ 30th anniversary props auction: exclusive photos

Fans can celebrate the 30th anniversary of “Friends” by buying iconic props that are being auctioned off from the beloved sitcom.

“Friends The One With The 30th Year Anniversary Auction” will give people the chance to snag clothes worn by the main cast and notable guest stars, furniture that appeared in Ross’ (David Schwimmer) apartment, items from Central Perk where the friend group hung out, and more.

The auction is taking place Monday, September 23 at Julien’s Studios and online at Julien’s Auctions.

One of the items being offered up is Rachel’s (Jennifer Aniston) gray turtleneck sweater estimated at $1,000 to $1,500. She wore the sweater in Season 7, Episode 16, “The One With The Truth About London.”

Phoebe’s (Lisa Kudrow) blue denim coat with faux fur from Season 7, Episode 18, “The One With Joey’s Award,” is for sale estimated at $1,000 to $1,500, as well.

Other clothing items going for the same estimated price ring include Chandler’s (Matthew Perry) teal cashmere, polo-style sweater from Season 7, Episode 10, “The One With The Holiday Armadillo,” Monica’s (Courteney Cox) brown and tan knit top from Season 9, Episode 15, “The One With The Mugging” and Ross’ blue long-sleeved top with two side slits from Season 9, Episode 16, “The One With The Boob Job.”

For an estimated $1,000 to $1,5000, fans can also buy the brown striped short-sleeved shirt worn by Joey (Matt LeBlanc) in Season 10, Episode 1, “The One After Joey and Rachel Kiss.”

The purple, long sleeved button up shirt and tie worn by Gunther (James Michael Tyler) in Season 10, Episode 9, “The One With The Birth Mother,” is also in the auction, estimated at $500 to $700.

More purchasable costumes ranging in estimated prices were worn by the show’s famous guest stars like Dakota Fanning, Winona Ryder, Susan Sarandon, Bruce Willis, Christina Appplegate and more.

For fans that want funnier props, they can snatch the Uberweiss laundry detergent box involved in the start of Ross and Rachel’s romance in the fifth episode of the series for an estimated $200 to $300.

Or for an estimated $300 to $500, they can buy Ross’ Geller Cup trophy prop from Season 3, Episode 9, “The One With The Football.”

Ross’ phrenology head sculpture is similarly being auctioned off for an estimated $300 to $500.

Some items related to Central Perk are in the auction, including an orange couch (estimated at $2,000 to $3,000) and a sign (estimated at $500 to $700).

Ben Geller’s blue bike (estimated at $500 to $700), Ross’ apartment dresser (estimated at $500 to $700), the Mrs. Braverman cheesecake (estimated at $200 to $300), Joey’s wedding speech (estimated at $200 to $300) and Monica’s catering business card (estimated at $100 to $200) are also in the auction.

September 22, 1994 was the day the first of “Friends” premiered on NBC.

For the show’s 25th anniversary in 2019, there was a pop-up exhibit located in Soho, New York City.

The tourist sight, which was opened to fans for a limited time, boasted an array of real costumes and props from the show.
