Yes, but keep in mind since the Giants only have six selections remaining in this draft it would entail dipping into next year’s draft kitty. Schoen may not want to do that. He may simply choose to be vigilant and let the draft come to him.
The top three teams (Chicago, Washington, and New England) will likely take quarterbacks after clearing the decks this offseason and will be demanding a package worth much more than Schoen can offer at this point to move up.
That leaves Arizona and the Los Angeles Chargers at No. 4 and 5, respectively, both of whom have made it clear they are ‘open for business.’ One team, the Minnesota Vikings, would love to get ahead of the Giants to grab one of the top quarterbacks and may have the capital to do so after acquiring an additional first-round pick last week.
