10 WR sleepers to target for fantasy football Week 3
Let’s break down 10 WR sleepers to target for fantasy football Week 3.
Week 3 of the NFL season is officially underway. The Cleveland Browns defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 29-17 on Thursday night.
With 15 games left to play, fantasy owners still have a wealth of options on the waiver wire. So, let’s take a look at ten wide receiver sleepers to target in fantasy football leagues.
Every player on this list is readily available in ESPN leagues, and they are ranked No. 10-1.
10. NFL fantasy football wide receiver sleepers for Week 3: Sterling Shepard, New York Giants
Rostered: 21.5%
In Week 1, Shepard had two receptions for 71 yards and a touchdown. At the time, it did not appear to be an indicator of sustained production.
However, the Giants increased Shepard’s workload in Week 2. Against the Carolina Panthers, he was targeted a game-high 10 times. No other Giants’ receiver was targeted more than six times. Subsequently, Shepard recorded six receptions for 34 yards. It was not a dominant performance, but the volume was certainly noteworthy.
Heading into a Monday night matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, Shepard should continue to play his increased role. There is one big question, though. How productive can the Giants’ passing offense be against the Cowboys’ defense? Last week, the Cowboys held the Cincinnati Bengals to 165 passing yards.
Shepard is worth stashing in deeper leagues, but this week, he is a boom-or-bust option.
9. NFL fantasy football wide receiver sleepers for Week 3: Devin Duvernay, Baltimore Ravens
Rostered: 17.1%
After his breakout two-touchdown performance in Week 1, Duvernay exited his Week 2 matchup against the Miami Dolphins with a concussion.
Prior to the injury, Duvernay had a 103-yard kickoff return touchdown.
He also hauled in two receptions for 42 yards.
Duvernay is now out of concussion protocol and practicing.
Due to his big play ability, he is a high-upside flier.
