Jim Ross is sharing an update on his challenging health journey.

The WWE Hall of Famer revealed that he has been diagnosed with colon cancer and provided some insight into his upcoming treatment.

“Surgery being scheduled in the next week or two,” the pro wrestling commentator wrote on X May 15. “I appreciate your concern and support.”

The announcement marks the second time the 73-year-old—who left his announcing gig at WWE in 2019, when he joined AEW (All Elite Wrestling) as an announcer—has battled cancer in recent years. In October 2021, he shared his skin cancer diagnosis.

“Skin cancer confirmed,” he wrote on X at the time. “Waiting on radiologist study to determine best treatment. Likely radiation. Feeling great and ready to attack.”

Two months later, Jim, often referred to by WWE fans as “Good Ol’ JR,” shared that he was “cancer free” and would be returning to his role as an AEW television announcer. He also expressed his gratitude for AEW president Tony Khan’s support throughout his recovery process.
