Will Joan Vassos Be On ‘Dancing with the Stars’? Here’s What The ‘Golden Bachelorette’ Lead Had To Say

The Golden Bachelorette‘s debut season is nearly finished airing, but once Joan Vassos’ journey to find love concludes, there’s a chance you could see her on another ABC show…

Ahead of The Golden Bachelorette’s premiere, Vassos told Decider that she would consider following in the footsteps of past franchise alum and joining Dancing with the Stars should an invite be extended.

“It’s a little bit in my mind. I mean, it’s all about timing with that show, because they only do it once a year. So I would consider it,” Vassos said. “I’m just going to admit right up front that I’m really not a very good dancer. But I would just love the experience…I think I would want to try it.”

Vassos said one of the major reasons she’d be open to the competition is because her Golden Bachelor and Golden Bachelorette experiences gave her a new outlook on life. “I really hate saying no to things now. I feel like doing things that scare you at this age in my life is so important otherwise you never grow,” she explained. “So I think I would say yes. But I don’t know if it’ll be offered to me.”

The 61-year-old reality star also admitted she’d be less intimidated to put herself out on the dance floor because she met Dancing with the Stars judges Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli at an event. “They were the nicest people, so I feel like I would at least feel comfortable,” Vassos said. “They’re really kind, even though they’re critiquing you and they can get you kicked off.”

Former Bachelor and Bachelorette leads Joey Grazidei and Jenn Tran are currently competing in Dancing with the Stars Season 33, and they’re not the only franchise alum who ditched roses for dancing shoes. In recent years, (Grocery Store) Joe Amabile and Bachelor lead Matt James appeared on the dancing competition, and former Bachelorette leads Hannah Brown, Kaitlyn Bristowe, Gabby Windey, and Charity Lawson also strutted their stuff on the DWTS dance floor. (Bristowe and Brown even won their seasons!)

Before Graziadei put on his dancing shoes, he appeared on Season 7 of ABC’s 9-1-1 for an epic crossover episode, so if Dancing with the Stars doesn’t pan out for Vassos, don’t worry. She already knows which ABC scripted series she’d want to join as a guest star.

“I’ve already started lobbying for it! I want to be on Abbott Elementary so badly. I flippin’ love Abbott Elementary, and I’m dying to be on it. And I love the cast,” Vassos told Decider. “I actually work at a school and my daughter’s a third grade teacher. I’m not a teacher, I’m an administrator.”

So there you have it, folks! Whether Vassos straps on her dancing shoes or puts her real-life admin experience to work on Quinta Brunson’s Emmy-winning comedy, her ABC future looks bright. But first, that Golden Bachelorette finale…

New episodes of The Golden Bachelorette premiere Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m. ET on ABC with next-day streaming on Hulu.
