Whoopi Goldberg Appears To Call Out A Chatty Audience Member At ‘The View’: “You Know I Can Hear You, Right?”

Fans should know by now not to mess with the rules of The View, but there’s always one or two troublemakers out there. On this morning’s episode, one especially talkative audience member felt the wrath of Whoopi Goldberg when they appeared to continue speaking during the opening moments of the show. And of course, Goldberg couldn’t let that slide.

“We are a little more than three months away from the presidential election, and VP Harris continues to enjoy,” Goldberg began after she and her co-hosts had settled into their seats.

“It was on full display at a packed rally in Atlanta yesterday,” she continued, before abruptly pausing, turning her head to face the crowd and saying, “You know I can hear you, right?”

Her co-hosts all appeared to look at the same point in the studio audience as a bit of nervous laughter filled the room, including a giggle from Sunny Hostin. Meanwhile, Sara Haines — never one to rock the boat — smiled politely, while Joy Behar looked at Goldberg in shock.

The moment was brief, but served as a reminder to The View fans not to mess with Hot Topics time. A similar incident took place just months ago on the morning talk show, but the perpetrator was so distracting to Goldberg that she had to get up from her seat to go speak with them mid-episode.

During a March show this spring, Goldberg rose from her Hot Topics chair to scold an audience member who was taking pictures during the live recording. As Hostin spoke during the opening segment, Goldberg interjected to stop her and got up from her seat.

“Hold on, hold on,” she said as she walked behind her co-hosts to face the audience. While the rest of the panelists seemed confused, with Behar even asking, “What’s the matter?” Goldberg addressed the audience member directly.

“Sir, I have to stop you with the camera, ’cause I can see you,” she told him. “So do me a favor, don’t pull it out again. I’d appreciate that.”

Goldberg then thanked the viewer and returned to her seat while the audience clapped. Never a dull moment at The View!

The View airs weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
