What happens to your car when you don’t move it for NYC block party
One driver learned a valuable lesson last weekend that most New Yorkers already know: You’ve got to move your car on block party day.
Pictures posted online following the annual Hausman Street block party in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, on Sept. 7 showed a silver Audi with New Mexico plates, mercilessly wrapped in Saran Wrap.
“No Parking Saturday” signs were affixed to the car’s front and back windshields.
Red Solo cups along with silly string and bits of food were also placed on the car.
The vehicle was coated in condiments like ketchup and mustard, and covered in stickers of an unknown mustachioed man’s face.
“Grew up on that street and the block party is a long-standing tradition,”‘ wrote one Reddit user who commented on the photos. “If you don’t like it, I don’t know, maybe move your car before the block party.”
Most commenters believed the car attack was the work of neighborhood kids, calling it “mob justice.”
The Post was unable to locate the car’s owner.
“That person will never come back to New York City,” wrote another commenter.
While most found the pictures “hilarious,” others blasted the mess.
“It’s all fun and games,” wrote one Redditor, “until the real owner is sick, disabled, or [a] senior.”
