UFC fighter Feng Xiaocan hospitalized after brutal knockout
UFC fighter Feng Xiaocan was taken out of the ring on a stretcher after getting viciously knocked out at UFC Fight Night in Macau on Saturday.
Xiocan was stuck in the head with a powerful leg kick from Shi Ming in the third round of their women’s strawweight fight.
After the kick, Ming went to the ground to throw a couple of punches before the referee dove in to stop the match.
According to pre-fight odds listed at Sports Illustrated, Xiocan was a -425 favorite while Ming was a +330 underdog.
Following the fight, Ming got emotional in an in-ring interview with former UFC fighter Michael Bisping.
“I feel really happy and I worry about my opponent,” Ming said, as covered by MMA Junkie. “I hope she is OK. She is young. … I think I’m going to be a dangerous opponent in the future. Good luck to my next opponent.”
The MMA site Sherdog provided a positive update in the aftermath.
“Per broadcast: Xiaocan Feng has been taken to a hospital, she was able to move her arms, and if she’s cleared at the hospital she will be released and undergo concussion protocol at UFC PI in Shanghai. She didn’t remember what happened but was alert in the ambulance,” the site relayed on X.
UFC spokesperson Chris Bellitti did not immediately respond to The Post’s inquiry on if there are further updates on Feng.
