Ty Lue expected to remain in Clippers amid coaching buzz
Multiple sources with connection and understanding of the current coaching hunts in the league believe that Tyronn Lue will still remain in the L.A. Clippers camp, per SNY’s Ian Begley.
Lue has been a prominent name floating around as a candidate to watch to potentially get snagged by several teams looking for their new head coach. Still, he has a few more years left in his current deal with the Clippers, and plenty of rumors suggest that both sides appear to potentially work out for an extension.
With Clippers yet to achieve a fully available roster with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George at front in order to finally contend, speculations popped up that Lue could have grown frustrated in his progress in the team and might look for a fresh start.
The Phoenix Suns, who dismissed Monty Williams in wake of their second-round elimination this playoffs, were tagged as a franchise who reportedly kept an eye on Lue.
Lue has been the top mentor of Los Angeles since the 2020-21 season. In his first year leading the club, the Clips were able to appear in their first Conference Finals in franchise history.
