Travis Kelce on when to take ‘next step’ in a relationship amid Taylor Swift engagement countdown
Travis Kelce is sharing his thoughts on when he believes it’s the appropriate time to take the “next step” in a relationship — amid rumblings that he and girlfriend Taylor Swift will likely get engaged soon.
“I feel like [it’s] when you know someone’s life,” the Kansas City Chiefs star, 35, shared Thursday on a special bonus episode of his and brother Jason Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast.
“When you see someone’s day-to-day and you can understand that, and you get into a routine of being with that person or talking to that person about their daily routines consistently. You naturally just feel the genuine connection.”
Travis also noted that the desire to “get to that next step faster” should happen “naturally.”
The “Grotesquerie” star also pointed out that family plays an important role, sharing that he thinks it’s “huge” when a partner is introduced to relatives.
Travis and Swift, 34, met each other’s families early on, with the pop superstar sitting beside her beau’s mom, Donna Kelce, at the first Chiefs game she ever attended in September 2023.
The family outing took place just months after Travis and Swift had secretly started dating.
Since then, the “You Belong With Me” singer’s parents, Scott Swift and Andrea Swift, have also cozied up to the NFL star — even attending the Super Bowl in Las Vegas earlier this year to root him on.
Scott, 72, recently sat next to a woman on a plane and spilled how much he loves Travis for his daughter.
His seatmate Taylor Moore revealed in a TikTok video that the proud dad gushed that “out of all of [Taylor’s] boyfriends in the last 12 years … Travis has made the biggest impact.”
Despite Travis’ opinions on what it takes to propose, his older brother — who is married with three kids – said on the podcast that he believes “moving in” should be a deciding factor.
“You’ve got to make that decision especially if you’ve got roommates,” Jason, 36, explained.
“You’ll know, if you want to do it, you’ll do it. That’s how you know. And then if she wants to do it, then you both end up doing it. Not in that way, but moving in way.”
Travis and Taylor do not yet live under one roof, but she does spend a lot of time in the tight end’s $6 million Kansas City, Mo., mansion when she is on hiatus from touring.
Travis, for his part, has also been spotted staying over the “Lover” singer’s New York City apartment.
However, Jason concluded that the final steps before a couple settles down is having “more serious conversations about potentially what are our values, what do we believe in, what do we want our life to be individually, and with the person.”
The retired Philadelphia Eagles center, who has been married to wife Kylie Kelce since 2018, added, “You start thinking about the stuff and the more you line up … you just keep kind of rolling. Or you say, ‘I don’t want to deal with that stuff,’ and go find another person.”
Travis then chimed in, “That’s the love train. You either jump on or jump off.”
Some have speculated that the Super Bowl champ may have already taken that leap of faith with Taylor.
Earlier this month, Troy Aikman shared on the “Pardon My Take” podcast, “Someone actually reached out to me today and said they might actually be engaged.”
A source previously told Page Six in August that the wife of a top Chiefs exec was overheard telling pals in a suite at a Morgan Wallen concert that the powerhouse duo are already engaged as well.
It was unclear, however, if the comment was a slip of the tongue or if she was echoing online scuttlebutt.
Travis’ rep denied at the time that any engagement had taken place.
