Tom Brady’s game outfit mocked over ‘clashing’ shirt and tie combo

There has been plenty of chatter surrounding Tom Brady’s performance as an NFL analyst, but for Week 4 of the NFL season, the discussion shifted from his commentary to his wardrobe.

When calling Sunday’s NFC clash between the Buccaneers and Eagles in Tampa, the future Hall of Fame quarterback opted for a striped shirt and a polka-dotted tie in the booth, fueling an array of reactions on social media.

“Tom Brady was once married to one of the biggest supermodels in the world and is wearing a polkadot tie with a striped shirt,” one X user remarked Sunday, referencing Brady’s 13-year union with Gisele Bündchen, whom he divorced in 2022.

“Listen Tom, never ever wear two different clashing styles. Stripes and polka dots, especially a shirt that looks like 90s pajama. Solid colors dude,” another remarked.

Another fan also suggested Brady’s look came from a previous decade.

“@TomBrady out here wearing Express button ups from the 90’s…@NFLonFOX,” the user wrote on X.

“Who picked out Tom Brady’s shirt for today? Looks like something I’d find in my dad’s closet,” one viewer posted.

Brady, 47, is in his first season as an NFL analyst after agreeing to a 10-year, $375 million deal with Fox in 2022.

Although he had an uneven debut in Week 1, the seven-time Super Bowl champion has gotten more comfortable in the booth, showing bits of his personality — and apparent frustration — when commentating on games with Kevin Burkhardt.

The former Patriots and Buccaneers quarterback even jabbed Tampa’s current signal-caller, Baker Mayfield, over comments about the difference in environment between the two.

“They wanted me to come in, be myself, bring the joy back to football for guys who weren’t having as much fun,” Mayfield said of the organization, which signed him to a three-year, $100 million contract extension in March.

That quote was shown on Sunday’s broadcast, to which Brady — who spent the final three seasons of his NFL career in Tampa before retiring in 2023 — replied, “I thought stressful was not having Super Bowl rings. There was a mindset of a champion that I took to work every day. This wasn’t daycare. If I wanted to have fun, I was going to go to Disneyland with my kids.”

Mayfield, who led Tampa to a 33-16 win over Philly on Sunday, later stated the remarks “got taken out of context.”

Elsewhere on Sunday’s broadcast, Brady revealed he was “seriously considering” the Bears in free agency before landing with the Buccaneers.

Brady joined the Buccaneers in 2020 after 20 seasons in New England.
