Eldiara Douchette found the perfect way to get closure on a big loss.
After the TikTok star, who goes by the moniker Semi Bionic Barbie on social media, shared that she had her dominant right arm amputated in October, she held a mock funeral service to help her work through the adjustment.
As she wrote alongside a Jan. 15 TikTok, where she walked up to her arm at a wake-style service in an all-black outfit, “Utilized my free will and had a memorial for my arm that I lost to cancer.”
Later, Eldiara, who has been battling synovial sarcoma—a rare cancer—since 2021, shared that the lighthearted moment actually helped her heal.
“What started as a joke—holding a service for my amputated arm—ended up being a beautifully cathartic experience,” Eldiara wrote in a Jan. 16 Instagram post. “I laughed at the absurdity of it for a minute, and then just stared at the shriveled up skin for a while, trying to remember the past 22 years I was able to spend with this thing.”
