Tia Mowry reveals she’s not ‘close’ with twin sister Tamera anymore
Sister, sister.
Tia Mowry revealed that she’s grown distant from her twin sister Tamera Mowry following her divorce from Cory Hardrict.
Tia, 46, made the confession in a preview for her new WE tv reality series, “Tia Mowry: My Next Act.”
“I came into this world with a twin and right after that, I went into a 22-year relationship so I have never been alone in my life. It has been quite a journey,” she said in the YouTube teaser released Friday.
“Being alone has been the most challenging part of my divorce,” added Tia, who split from Hardrict, 44, in 2022 after 14 years of marriage. They finalized their divorce last year.
Tia went on, “It’s times like this when I feel and wish that my sister and I were still close and I could pick up the phone and call her. But that’s just not where we are right now.”
The Post has reached out to Tia and Tamera’s reps for comment.
A source told People that Tia’s comments about Tamera, 46, were in reference to them living far apart.
“The sisters are still close, but the quote being referenced was about the lack of proximity in their physical location — Tamera lives in Napa and Tia lives in Los Angeles,” said the insider.
Back in May, Tamera told Entertainment Tonight that she wasn’t given a heads up about her twin’s next reality show.
“I didn’t know until…I found out with the rest of the world!” Tamera said.
When asked if she’ll be on the show, Tamera replied, “She didn’t ask me. So I take that as, no.”
“She’s like, this is my story, and you know, I can only respect that,” Tamera added.
Tia and Tamera had a reality show together on the Style Network from 2011 to 2013.
At the time, Tia was still married to Hardrict, who is the father of her son Cree, 13, and daughter Cairo, 6.
The “Twitches” actress filed for divorce from Hardrict in October 2022, citing irreconcilable differences.
Two months later, Tamera — who has been married to former Fox News journalist Adam Housley since 2011 — gave an update on her newly-single sister.
“She’s handling everything with grace. That is what is inspiring,” Tamera told US Weekly in Dec. 2022. “You have your ups [and] you have your downs — but she’s allowing her experience to change her. I feel [like she has changed] for the better.”
“Things are not always gonna go as planned or we’re gonna have some plot twists,” Tamera added. “You [have to] learn from it, grow from it and do it with love. I feel like that is what she’s doing.”
In the preview for her reality show, Tia said she’s “lost” herself following her divorce.
“I have this beautiful house, I have amazing kids, but the one thing I don’t have is love,” she shared.
“Divorce is about starting over, and you have to learn how to live again,” Tamera also said.
“Tia Mowry: My Next Act” premieres Oct. 4.
