Third ‘Venom’ film spends second week at No. 1

You can’t keep a good symbiote down.

Venom: The Last Dance” earned another $6.6 million in ticket sales during its second week in theaters, and holds steady at No. 1, according to The Numbers.

The film stars Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock, a journalist forced to share his body with a demonic-looking alien symbiote that feasts on human brains.

In eight days, the final chapter in the “Venom” trilogy generated more than $70 million in box office receipts.

Smile 2,” the psychological thriller starring Jack Nicholson’s son, Ray, holds on to the No. 2 position, earning another $1.98 million in sales for a total of $47 million earned after its third weeks in theaters.

Here” from legendary filmmaker Robert Zemeckis is the only new release to have entered the top 5 this week, and followed at No. 3, netting $1.94 million in first-day sales.

The PG-13 flick revolves around a home, and the various families who move into it over the years.

The Post’s Johnny Oleksinski panned “Here,” saying the film’s “like watching a lousy stage play in which actors, cranked up to 200%, deliver soapy speeches to a wall.”

“The Wild Robot” finished in fourth place, earning another $1.8 million at the box office. In five weeks, the film has made more than $115 million.

“Conclave,” a drama about the naming of a new Pope starring Ralph Fiennes, round things out at No. 5 with $1.4 million made during its second week in theaters.
