‘The Penguin’ On Max: Cast, Release Date, Plot, And Everything Else We Know

The sun might soon be setting on summer, but as the fall approaches, so do some exciting new streaming releases, like The Penguin.

Colin Farrell is reprising his villainous role from The Batman, the 2022 film also starring Robert Pattinson, Zoë Kravitz, Paul Dano, and Jeffrey Wright. HBO confirmed Farrell would be taking on the part once again back in 2022.

Hailing from DC Studios, the eight-episode-long limited series is executive produced by The Batman director Matt Reeves, as well as Farrell , Dylan Clark, writer and showrunner Lauren LeFranc, Craig Zobel, and Bill Carraro, per HBO’s Aug. 15 press release.

When is The Penguin‘s release date?

The first episode of The Penguin will air on HBO on Thursday, Sept. 19 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, and will also stream on Max. The following seven episodes will air on Sunday nights at 9 p.m. ET/PT, beginning with the second episode on Sunday, Sept. 29.

Per the show’s logline, The Penguin “continues filmmaker Matt Reeves’ The Batman epic crime saga that began with Warner Bros. Pictures’ global blockbuster The Batman.” As the title suggests, the limited series will surround Farrell’s Penguin.
