The 1958 hit back at mainstream media for protest ‘censorship’ – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United fans continued their resistance against the Glazer ownership of the club on Sunday before the game against Arsenal.

The 1958, an underground group concerned with the organization of fan protests and demonstrations against the Glazer family, in a statement, says thousands of supporters protested outside the Trinity prior to the Arsenal game.

In a different form of protest as per the 1958, Sunday’s affair involved bringing banners and flags to be displayed outside. These were then taken inside the ground during the game.

However, the group warns that there is still a lot to be done to achieve their primary goal of getting the Glazers out of the club.

In spite of the protest being successful, The 1958 accuses the media of downplaying fans’ efforts to protest against the Glazers.

In their statement, “It’s also extremely disappointing and frustrating that Sky continues to dampen down the noise inside the stadium that is clearly audible (and visible in this game) against our ownership.”

“We warned about this on our previous posts about the club doctoring audio with the Casemiro unveiling and also Sky and their lack of coverage given to the protests outside the ground and then clearly undergoing nefarious activities with the audio during the game.”

“Now this is obvious to everybody else also. Anybody who was in Old Trafford yesterday will tell you this isn’t anywhere close to a true reflection of the fans inside and outside the ground.”

“In addition to Sky and other media censorship we are also seeing the club clamping down and going out of their way to ensure any excuse to remove anti-Glazer sentiment from inside the ground is taken.”

The group promises to get to the bottom of the matter, with regard to the Sky doctoring and other elements of the press.

Through their official Twitter handle, the group thanked fans who showed up to protest during Arsenal’s game.

Not showing any signs of slowing down any time soon, the group have also promised to release plans tomorrow for yet another campaign against United’s owners.
