Texas coach, ex-stripper get married 3 years after monkey bite lawsuit
Congratulations are in order for University of Texas football coach Jeff Banks.
Taking to his Instagram this week, the assistant head coach announced he and his longtime girlfriend, Danielle Thomas, a former stripper, tied the knot recently.
“Incredible 72 hours with our family and closest friends! We truly love you all now off to Barcelona for our honeymoon! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼,” the 49-year-old Banks wrote.
Thomas is a former dancer, who went by the stage name “Pole Assassin,” according to ESPN, which reported she previously appeared “The Jerry Springer Show.”
It’s unclear how Banks — who is the assistant head coach, tight ends coach and special teams coordinator for the Longhorns — met Thomas.
The nuptials came three years after the couple made headlines for an alleged monkey biting incident.
In 2021, Banks and Thomas were sued by Amy and Casey Clinkenbeard and their child after an alleged incident at Banks’ home.
A lawsuit filed on behalf of the Clinkenbeard family claimed Thomas’ monkey bit the child at a haunted house orchestrated at Banks’ residence.
Thomas was identified as “Pole Assassin” in the lawsuit, which was her stage name as a dancer.
Banks and Thomas got married on July 20 at Superstition in Austin, Texas, according to a video shared by The Day Of wedding planning service on Instagram.
It showed the couple holding hands at the alter while being sprayed with rose pedals.
In a post on Instagram last month, Banks shared a birthday tribute to Thomas and tagged the username “@poleassassin_.”
That profile does not exist as of Thursday.
