Terry Bradshaw sings about voodoo helping Saints in wild Fox moment

Another NFL Sunday calls for another quirky Terry Bradshaw take.

When previewing New Orleans’ Week 8 matchup on “Fox NFL Sunday,” Bradshaw, 76, acknowledged how injuries have plagued this 2-6 Saints squad and suggested how voodoo can turn their fortunes around.

“I called — you guys ready for this – I called Dennis Allen, the head coach of the Saints. I love the Saints, I’m from New Orleans, and I believe in voodoo, like all the people do in Louisiana. I called and I said listen, down in Louisiana, where the tall pine trees grow, lives a voodoo lady named Marie Laveau,” Bradshaw said, singing the lyrics from Bobby Bare’s “Marie Laveau,” according to Awful Announcing.

“I called Marie Laveau. She took her pot. She went into the Saints. They put all that potion in there. Then they had [linebacker] Pete Werner come over, he got him a cup of it. Then [tight end] Taysom Hill, he got him a cup of it. [Marshon] Lattimore, the corner, he got a cup of it. [Derek] Carr, the quarterback, he took a cup but he had to take some home, he needed a little bit more. All of these people are coming back. The Saints are decimated with injuries and Marie Laveau, God bless her, for coming in there.”

Bradshaw’s co-host, Curt Menefee, then reached for the Steelers legend’s cup and asked, “Did you have a cup of something over here cause I’m wondering what’s going on.”

Laveau was a famed voodoo priestess who died in the late 1800’s.

She was portrayed by Angela Bassett in FX’s “American Horror Stories: Coven” which aired from October 2013 through January 2014.

Bradshaw, who hails from Shreveport, Louisiana, frequently raises eyebrows with his pregame commentary, which can include the occasional accent switch or “spin the bottle” remark.

Although Sunday’s Saints discussion took a curious turn, Bradshaw isn’t wrong about the team needing a boost.

Winners of their first two games of the year, the Saints then dropped five straight while grappling with injuries to star players.

Hill and wide receiver Chris Olave are expected to return to action Sunday, according to ESPN, after grappling with chest and rib injuries and a concussion, respectively.

Kickoff between the Saints and Chargers (3-3) in Los Angeles is set for 4:00 p.m.
