Tears of the Kingdom: Zelda and Ganondorf Amiibos Announced During Nintendo Direct

Tears of the Kingdom is getting two new Amiibos: One for Zelda and one for Ganondorf. Announced during today’s Nintendo Direct, the two Amiibos join the Tears of the Kingdom Link Amiibo that has already been released.

The Zelda Amiibo features the series’ heroine wielding the Master Sword, which is sure to be popular with fans. Ganondorf, meanwhile, is lunging forward and looking generally handsome.

It’s not clear what gameplay benefits the two new Amiibo figures will confer, but they will at least look very handsome sitting on your shelf. In the meantime, the hoped for Tears of the Kingdom DLC remains elusive.

One way or another, though, Tears of the Kingdom should still be relevant when these two figures arrives this holiday. Nintendo’s long-awaited Breath of the Wild sequel has been univerally hailed as a masterpiece that builds on the original in every way, and a thriving community continues to experiment with its deep and fascinating physics system.

In addition to the Amiibos, the Nintendo Direct also included a Super Mario RPG remake, Super Mario Wonder, Pikmin 4, and lots more. You can find our list of everything announced right here.
