Steve Kerr says Patrick Baldwin Jr. has one ability like Kevin Durant

Warriors’ rookie Patrick Baldwin Jr. scored 11 points in each of the back to back games against the Lakers and the Rockets.

The 20-year-old forward made three of five three-pointers in each game. His shooting style received praise from head coach Steve Kerr who saw similarities that of Kevin Durant and Michael Porter Jr.

Via C.J. Holmes of the San Francisco Chronicle:

“When Michael Porter Jr. shoots the ball in Denver, you can’t really challenge it,” Kerr explained. “When Kevin Durant shoots it at 6-foot-11, that kind of release, you can’t challenge it. So (Patrick) has that kind of extension and size and shooting ability, so you can see (his fit with us) it makes a lot of sense.”

This season Baldwin is averaging 5.4 points and 1.4 rebounds in 8.2 minutes per game. He has appeared in 17 games for the Dubs so far this year and has been playing for the Dubs’ G League affiliate for the most part.
