Steve Kerr reacts to Warriors nearly blowing away 20-point lead vs. Cavaliers

The Warriors defeated the Cavaliers (120-114) in what ended up being a close game even though Golden State led by 20 points late in the third quarter.

Dubs’ head coach Steve Kerr thought that it wasn’t the case of his team relaxing, but rather Cleveland switching to an upper gear, especially on the defensive end.

“I don’t think we let our foot off the gas,” Kerr said postgame. “I think we were just playing so well and shooting the ball so well to get that lead and then they’re a hell of a team, one of the best teams in the league, the number one defense in the league.

“So they brought the pressure and forced some turnovers. I think we had 14 of them in the second half. So they just got into us and started to knock down some shots themselves. And we kind of hung on for deal life down the stretch, but we got it done.”
