Slot gives Alisson, Robertson injury updates
Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson and wideman Andy Robertson will not join in pre-season training until August, manager Arne Slot has said.
Robertson captained Scotland in their three-match Uefa Euro 2024 campaign last month and is undergoing a rehabilitation programme on Liverpool’s US tour which will rule him out of their Stateside friendlies.
“He is not fully fit yet,” Slot said of the 30-year-old. “But we are expecting him in the end of the tour – maybe just after the tour – to be fully fit again.
“He took a small injury into the Euro. He had to recover from that after playing those games. We will expect him back after our tour – but he joined us over here.”

Liverpool injury news
Alisson was the starting goalkeeper for a Brazil side whose underwhelming Copa America campaign came to an end with a defeat to Uruguay on penalties in Nevada in the quarter-finals on July 7.
“I think he will also start in Liverpool when we’re back,” said Slot, who officially took over from Jurgen Klopp on June 1.
Slot’s first match in charge will be against Spanish side Real Betis on Saturday in Pittsburgh (12.30am BST), where Portugal forward Diogo Jota was expected to arrive for the start of his training camp on Thursday.
“He will have his testing day tomorrow and the day after he will join us in the session,” said the Dutchman, adding that France defender Ibrahima Konate and Netherlands midfielder Ryan Gravenberch will “join us later in the trip”.
“I don’t think I have forgotten anyone,” he added. “The rest will start after the trip, when we are back in Liverpool.”
