Skip Bayless, Cowboys fans ready to banish Dak Prescott after playoff dud

Skip Bayless and Cowboys fans were shaking their fists at Dak Prescott after an uninspiring performance in Dallas’ playoff loss to the 49ers.

Dak Prescott was coming off his best postseason performance ever when he took the field against the 49ers with hopes of taking the Cowboys to their first NFC Championship Game appearance this century.

The magic apparently stayed in Tampa Bay.

Prescott threw two interceptions and led the Cowboys to a measly 12 points against the 49ers as Dallas was eliminated from the playoffs.

Skip Bayless led the charge criticizing Prescott for his interceptions, missed throws, decision-making and more.

Prescott was 23-of-37 for 206 yards and one touchdown with two interceptions.

His performance was a far cry from the four-touchdown, 305-yard outing he had against the Buccaneers in the Wild Card Round.

Fans who hoped that Prescott had turned a corner after that performance in Tampa Bay will have to reconsider after this one.

The difference was the 49ers’ defense. They confused the Cowboys quarterback, forcing him into bad decisions and pressuring him into bad throws.

Many a quarterback has had difficulty with San Francisco this season. But keeping composure and managing the game against a good defense is what Super Bowl-caliber quarterbacks have to be able to do. Dallas’ defense also had a strong outing but rookie quarterback Brock Purdy kept things simple for the 49ers and did enough to not lose the game.

All the Cowboys can do now is lick their wounds, literally in the case of Tony Pollard who suffered a high-ankle sprain in the game and Mattress Mack who put a $2 million bet on Dallas to win.
