Sixers reluctant to cut ties with Tobias Harris, offered outrageous demands from rival teams
Tobias Harris has retained his case this offseason as one of the subjects of trade speculations around the league, but the Philadelphia 76ers appear unwilling to cut their ties with the veteran.
Though the Phoenix Suns, Utah Jazz, and Dallas Mavericks joined the previously noted Cleveland Cavaliers, Indiana Pacers, and Detroit Pistons as teams who sought for a trade revolving around Harris, sources told Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer that the Sixers didn’t very much entertain the interest of these rival teams.
The Sixers didn’t want Deandre Ayton to came over their lineup from the Suns. Indiana, for its part, have no key assets to entice Philadelphia.
Added by Pompey, sources informed him last week that Philly are overvaluing Harris and asking for “outrageous packages in return.” This can be shaded from their mind-boggling asking price of Jarrett Allen, Evan Mobley and a draft pick from Cleveland.
Per Pompey, the Sixers aren’t interested yet to end their partnership with tenure with new head coach Nick Nurse serving as one of the factors. Nurse expressed his excitement to manage Harris and implement more offensive sets for the wingman unlike from the past few years under Doc Rivers.
