Simone Biles flashes goat necklace after winning Olympics gold medal
Simone Biles isn’t afraid to let the world know just how good she is.
Shortly after winning her second gold medal of the 2024 Olympics with an individual all-around gymnastics win on Thursday, the 27-year-old donned a sparkling necklace with an emblem resembling a goat — an allusion to Biles being the greatest gymnast of all time, if not one of the best Olympians in history.
“GOAT” is exactly how many prominent figures referred to Biles on social media as she became the first American gymnast ever to collect six gold medals.
Team USA basketball star Kevin Durant called her “Goat Biles” and even suggested she could thunderously dunk a lob during an basketball game given her unreal vertical jump.
Biles’ 59.131 score secured her spot atop the podium, ahead of Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade (57.932) and fellow American sensation Suni Lee (56.465).
The American superstar reclaimed the throne after overcoming an early error on bars.
The gold medal was the second to be placed around Biles’ neck in Paris after she and Lee ended in first in the all-around team gymnastics competition on Tuesday.

Biles also won gold in the individual all-around in 2016 but famously withdrew from the competition in Tokyo in 2021 due to experiencing a case of the “twisties,” which led to some criticism.
With Biles sidelined, Lee ended up claiming her first individual gold medal in those Summer Games.
Now, though, the pair became the first American gymnasts to each place in the top three in the all-around category two separate times.
Amid her celebratory posts after her first gold of the 2024 Olympics, Biles seemed to let her team’s naysayers — especially former teammate MyKayla Skinner — know with a sly Instagram caption.
She later mentioned she was blocked amid the drama.
Team USA now has nine gold medals in these Olympics as a whole and 37 overall, leading all countries.
