Sabrina Carpenter denies asking Taylor Swift ‘permission’ to pose in Skims campaign

Heartbreak is one thing, her ego’s another.

Sabrina Carpenter is still defending her April 2024 Skims campaign months after posing for Kim Kardashian’s company.

Speaking with Variety, the singer, 25, shared that she never had to ask permission from her pal, Taylor Swift before accepting the job — despite the fact that the “Bejeweled” artist has a years-long beef with the reality star.

Carpenter sang Swift’s praises while browsing a record shop during the interview, calling the 34 year old a “rock star” and hinting that the fashion gig wasn’t as big of a deal as their respective fans made it out to be.

“She’s just such a gangster with all of it. No matter what people are saying, everything that I’ve ever seen her tackle, she’s done so with grace,” Carpenter told the publication.

“The posts about me having to ‘ask for her permission’ — no,” she continued. “She’s one of my best, best friends, and we grab dinner or text and catch up like you would with your best friend.”

Carpenter, who previously opened for Swift for during the Eras Tour, stripped down for Skims earlier this year, modeling lingerie and basics from the brand’s Stretch Lace and Fits Everybody collections.

“I feel very excited Skims chose me to be the face of this campaign as I’ve always been a fan of the brand,” she said at the time.

Naturally, the choice left Swifties somewhat confused given that the “Fortnight” songstress and Kardashian, 43, have been feuding since 2016 after the “Kardashians” star leaked an edited phone call between Swift and Kanye West, labeling the artist a “snake.”

While it’s theorized that a track from Swift’s “Tortured Poets Department” album, “thanK you aIMee,” is directed at Kardashian, Carpenter continues to insist that working for Skims didn’t cause “Bad Blood between her and Swift.

“In that scenario, I’ve been very, very communicative with her about that situation, and I just love her so much and support her till the end,” she told Rolling Stone back in June.

Swift, for her part, has not publicly commented on it — though a slew of other BFFs including Brittany Mahomes and Lana Del Rey have all joined forces with the Skkn by Kim founder to model various Skims styles in recent years.
