Rock is making WWE WrestleMania 41 absence look worse with Pat McAfee interview

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson really isn’t making things better.

WrestleMania 41 weekend ended with the majority of fans infuriated by The Rock’s absence from Sunday night’s main event that saw John Cena beat Cody Rhodes — with help from rapper Travis Scott — to break Ric Flair’s record by winning his 17th world championship at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. 

Scott’s involvement, the lackluster finish and Rhodes having to make a pivotal decision of whether to cheat to win that we had already seen A.J. Style tussle with earlier in the night, made the match feel a little less than. 

The Rock then — in an attempt to possibly save face — took it upon himself to appear on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Tuesday and pull the curtain way too far back and likely anger fans even more. Breaking kayfabe is fine, but it should be well after an angle is over — especially when Cena is trying to stick to his new heel persona as much as he can.
