Rob Williams III set to return for Celtics after hamstring recovery

Center Robert Williams will be activated by the Boston Celtics on their Tuesday road matchup against the Sacramento Kings, per Gary Washburn of The Boston Globe. In addition, Marcus Smart and Al Horford will be played by coach Joe Mazzulla.

Williams has missed the Celtics’ last eight games after sustaining a hamstring injury earlier this month in a loss against the Brooklyn Nets.

He only played 44 games this season as he missed the initial parts of the 22-23 regular season due to an offseason knee surgery. Right now, he is averaging 8.4 points, 8.6 boards and 1.2 blocks while shooting 75 percent from the field.

With 10 games left to their season, Boston will look to finally prepare Williams III and continue to make a stronger push as they aim to get higher in the East standings for the playoffs.

Celtics will enter Sacramento with the second best record in the East at 49-23.
